So let's see if I have this straight. McCain has supported deregulation which has now created the Wall Street crisis, so now he is for regulation. But as per his advisors, the "right" kind of regulations.

Which leads me to ask McCain: What do you consider the "right" kind of regulation? Does it involve any checks and balances or is it just verbage to use to get elected so you can continue with your deregulation policies? Maybe your idea of the "right" regulations is actually NO regulations.

Also, in 2005, McCain co-sponsored a bill re the mortgage market. He was specific that there were dangerous practices going on that the American public would pay a high price if the mortgage companies weren't reigned in. The Democrats voted the bill down. So, please get it straight, Obamatots, that McCain was trying to address the problem, more than you can Obama ever did in the Senate.

It's easy the right kind of regulation is that run by the industry. Phil Gramm and McCain will follow the Bush approach of putting industry hacks in key regulatory postions. Then we have a 9/11 commsssion( headed by industry hacks)deermine we need to make on super agency called Homeland Security Commission. Again this becomes a boondogle of all Federal agencies that is headed by industry hacks that misappropirate funds for their own use.

In 2005, the Republicans had the majority in the House, Senate and the White House. Why didn't it get very far? Not enough info to convince me.

How come the American economy always thrives under Democratic leadership? Maybe because Democrats care about all of the citizens in the US, not just the rich ones. I think the last 7.5 years show us that Republican leaders do not have middle class Americans' best interests at heart. McCain doesn't get that; Obama does! Go Obama/Biden!
