Here is what inspired me to support Sen.Obama. I watched him on debates and interviews. When the media pundits were complaining about he is not giving "I won't blink" answers to questions, I appreciated that he really listened to the questions and gave very thoughtful answers. I want a president that is a deep thinker not reading off stump speeches. Throughout the campaign he has stayed true to his commitment to stay on the issues. His opponent on the other hand has gone off the deep end. Sen.Obama has shown us very clearly how he will govern and that inspires a lot of confidence. He picked a VP candidate that will help him govern, rather than the one that would help him win. He put the country first in his choice. And his personal story his a true American story. I live in CA, so I see things very differently. The kids in my kids classes are very diverse. There are caucasians, hispanics, african americans and asians and there are plenty of bi-racial and multi-racial kids.
As a son of a white mother and a black father and with an asian american sister, he represents hope for all of us and our future.

His father graduated summa cum laude; Obama graduated magna cum laude. He was able to present a six point plan before and after the stock market debacle. Gold is up; and the stock market is down. McCain twists Biden's words on asking the top 2% of earners to be patriotic by contributing taxes to help fix our country. He makes it sound (again) like the plan is to raise everyone's (not just the top 2%s) taxes. Not to mention, if helping rebuild the nation in tough times is not patriotic, what IS?!

One last thing...those Bush tax cuts McCain now favors...didn't he oppose them initially saying that you can't cut taxes on the rich while at war? (btw Sen. McCain...we're still at war). I guess the last "straight talk" we heard from McCain is when he admitted that the economy is "something I don't understand as well as I should." (yeah...he said that)

Catholic social doctrine that he was taught also states that you GIVE ACCORDING TO YOUR MEANS; Senator Biden missed that lesson, or misunderstood it to mean that others should give, and give, and give, at the point of a gun, if necessary.

I know that he is given to bloviating far more than most politicians, but he has gone around the bend with this. Is it unpatriotic that the Obamas have placed more than a million dollars in a tax-free municipal bond fund, from which they receive over $50k of tax-free income each year?

Or is it unpatriotic that, two years ago, when John McCain tried to get legislation passed that would have curbed the abuses at FAnnie Mae and Freddie Mac, Sen. Chris Dodd, who got millions from them, and Barack Obama, who also got millions from them, BLOCKED the legislation? Taking bribes is also against Catholic social doctrine, by the way.

For a man who supports abortion on the demand to be invoking Catholic doctrine is revolting. I am certainly glad that there seems to be no chance that he will be vice president. Unfortunately, the people of Delaware are idiotic enough to return him to the Senate, the only job he has ever had.

McCain likes to say that Obama will raise taxes. This is an outright lie; Obama will CUT taxes for people earning less than $250,000 annually, many as much as 80%, will eliminate taxes altogether for seniors with fixed incomes, and will raise taxes only for those who earn more than $250,000 annually.

McCain would cut taxes for those earning MORE than $250,000 (the Bush tax cuts that McCain would make permanent). He would leave taxes for those earning less than $250,000 about the same.
