McCain is such a bumbling idiot. He's been all over the place in the last week - flip-flopping within hours, making completely inaccurate statements, and now he's treating an ally, Spain, like they're an enemy.

In order to "prove" he knows something about the economy, he brags about being on the Commerce Committee and having influence over every part of economy - then he turns right around and gives a speech about how "WARshington" failed the people and he's going to hold those fat cats accountable. The bottom line is that McCain called himself a deregulator. True or not?

He more recently called himself as the guy who could build better regulations, though he also called himself someone who doesn't understand the economy very well.

McCain supporters, please tell me if anything I've paraphrased above isn't true, or even fair.

McCain has reached the point where nothing he says means anything, because he'll probably just contradict those words tomorrow.

You are so yesterday. That SEC chair thing didn't work out, so right now McCain is in Green Bay blaming the Bush Administration and Congress (of which, of course, he was a part), and accusing Obama of being in bed with the Fannie Mae folks. Usually, the McCain campaign paints Obama as a fluff-headed celebrity, weak, and inexperienced. But that would mean he's innocent in this crisis, as he was in the war, so I guess today it's more convenient to paint him as being in charge.

If you allowed images here, I'd tack on a nice pair of bottle-cap decorated flip-flops for the king of the beer industry, whose own campaign staff is up to its ears in lobbyists (who according to McCain won't get past the White House gate if HE is president), and whose financial adviser Phil Gramm really IS at least partially responsible for this mess.

Enough with the Republican talking points about Obama raising taxes in tough economic times. Obama will CUT taxes for middle and lower income workers. You know, the vast majority of us who make less than 250,000 dollars a year. The ones who will have to spend the extra disposable income because we can’t afford to do much else. And we all know it’s the American consumer who really drives the economy.

Kinda hard for rich folks to create all those new jobs with their tax cuts when regular folks don’t have the money to buy more goods and services. Seems to me Obama is making his tax cuts in exactly the right place. We already tried the McCain/Gramm prescription of more tax cuts for the corporations and the wealthiest two percent of Americans. Something is trickling down alright, but it sure doesn’t smell like prosperity. Don’t be fooled again.

Keating 5 had to do with almost the exact same issues

and mccain's relationship[ with the people who were "working the regulators" was too cushy...

While it seems that McCain is now reading from cue cards every time he speaks at his town hall meetings Palin’s ego has forgotten just who is running for President and who is running for VP. Anyone catch Palin’s comment in Iowa yesterday when making a pitch on reform and change ….”that’s just what a Palin/McCain administration will do” she stated. Opppssssssss!!!!

Do you really want as your President someone who has to read from cue cards to discuss important issues of the day. Especially when the person’s comments are generalizations anyway and do not require any communications of detail.

The Palin Dude refuses to testify in the Trooper Gate investigation. Palin may be innocent of abuse of power as Governor in this instance but a refusal to cooperate or to testify says what to your average voter ……………………… I’m hiding something maybe? Especially after agreeing to cooperate when the investigation initially started.

Note how recently even many prominent Republicans are quietly wincing at the thought of having Palin in the Whitehouse while a few are even expressing outright total fear of the same.

How many in here have overheard friends, family members or acquaintances state that they just can’t watch this anymore. That McCain and Palin are embarrassing themselves and this country to the point that they feel sorry for McCain and Palin? Yet we still have people supporting this ticket for the Whitehouse? Is it fair that we are going through another mortgage based financial meltdown just like the Savings & Loan scandal before, but everyone in the media pretends like they have amnesia on John McCain's role in the Keating Five?

Is it fair that everytime one of Senator Obama's advisors left the campaign, he was accused of "throwing them under the bus", but John McCain has thrown Carly Fiorina, the SEC chairman, Phil Gramm (allegedly), and even the Prime Minister of Spain "under the bus" and the media is silent?

Is it fair that the banks who created all these risky mortgage loans get bailed out, while the consumers who can't pay back the loans when they balloon to ridiculous rates don't?

Is it fair that over 40 million Americans don't have healthcare, and those that do find it covers less and less, and yet we "can't afford" to provide every American with ACCESS to affordable healthchare but we can afford to bail out all the corporate crooks on Wall Street?

Is it fair that the media cries foul if Senator McCain is blamed for something said by Rush Limbaugh, when Senator Obama is blamed for anything anyone he has ever known has ever said or done in their entire life?

You and I can refer to the candidates as McCain and Obama. Fellow members of the Senate do not just refer to each other singly by their last names. They may use their first name only, otherwise it is Mr.,first/last name or Senator/last name. I have never heard Barack Obama refer to John McCain as McCain. It would be disrespectful. John McCain just gave a speech in which he refers to Barack Obama as just Obama. It is rather like him referring to the Democratic Party as democrats. He, the honorable, has become the most dishonorable of campaigners. He is divisive in every way. If John McCain cannot show his opponent this modicum of respect now that his temperament has been flexed by the election, how will he handle his need to use respect to people he disagrees with as president?

I am not a McCain supporter, but this coverage is sooo biased it is disgusting. Obama puts out ads or jumps on a portion of a McCain statement and the headlines are "Obama goes on the attack". Obama's plan is the smart move for the country even if it's not politically. We don't need dueling plans out there; working with Paulson and Bernanke is the right move.

McCain's economic plan is a tragedy. Tragic in that he actually thinks it's a plan. Sorry Johnny, we need more than platitudes and attacks right now.

My god, is it just me, or does the Palin administration sound a lot like the Bush administration? Even more so everyday, we get more reports of cronyism, political firings, cover-ups, and stonewalling. The American people simply deserve better.

Speaking of the Bush administration, in these times of crisis, just where IS our lame duck president?

By the way, I invite everyone to read 'Change We Can Believe In', it's an easy read and clearly lays out Barack Obama's plan for America.
