I can never imagine what it would be like to put another Republican in office. Particularly one that does not shy away from the decisions and values of this administration. We are in grave danger if McCain and Palin sets foot at the highest office of this land.

The American people simply deserve good, better government than this. May we all learn from lessons of the past. Go out and vote, let your voices be heard. Take nothing for granted.

As far as Biden's gaffe, at least we know Biden can think for himself. Sen.Obama said he choose Biden, so they could have healthy debates and not agree on evrything. That is what we need in this country. As far as Gov.Palin not meeting with the press, this is getting ridiculous. Mericans should boycott this ticket, till they can answer some basic questions. I know some Republicans are getting nervous about letting the MCain/Palin team control the future of this country.

Thank you for those incisive words, Sen. Obama. What a different situation America would be in now if our public servants and financial leaders had taken their stewardship role seriously. Because they didn't, we are now being shaken down for $700,000,000,000 we don't have to cover the rear ends of the irresponsible and greedy.

I can't help but see this situation as one last "up yours" from this current cabal that is in power - a naked attempt to starve the beast so that the next administration will have absolutely nothing to work with for any type of social reform programs.

If anyone can lead us through the dark days to come - and this is not over by a long shot - it will be a President Obama.

McCain offers us nothing but continued decline. He can't turn it around. He's too entrenched in the culture that caused this debacle!

I feel Wall Street, the Bush Administration and other Reagan Republicans should pay the price. President Franklin D. Roosevelt enacted his New Deal policies to save the nation from the Great Depression and to prevent it from ever happening again, this nation prospered as a result. I wonder if this was the reason why President Bush's father, who was part of a coup conspiracy, sought to prevent in 1933. The coup attempt is discussed in "The Plot to Seize the White House: The Shocking True Story of the Conspiracy to Overthrow FDR" by Jules Archer. What the grandfather could not accomplish, the son and grandson took action to dismantle the New Deal and plunge us back into chaos.

An article was just published in which he advocates turning health care over to the private sector and de-regulating it just like the banking industry-look what that got us. His plan would hurt even worker like me who have some health issues but continue to work. He would tax my insurance and take away my employer incentive to insure me to help his buddies make even more money. Bush has already put us in dire straights and on the economy McCain has been right with him. Also, don't forget McCain was part of the Keating 5 and the Savings and Loan bailout. Obama is actually RIGHT about something! I can't believe that just came out of my keyboard...

But, this "plan" (if you can call it that) should NOT be a "welfare program for Wall Street executives". They should pay the price for what they have done.

But then shouldn't the Democrats come out and admit that it was their last love affair, B Clinton, and his administration's HUD man Andrew Cuomo that were the REAL cause of this housing bubble? THEY were the one's who went and signed legislation FORCING the large banks to give loans out to the "poor" who the banks KNEW had horrible credit histories. But since the loans were supposed to be federally backed the banks did anyways with looser regulations, so OF COURSE they gave these people adjustable interest rates....the people DID NOT QUALIFY for "good rates". They shouldn't have even gotten the loans, ESPECIALLY since they shouldve been able to understand what an ADJUSTABLE RATE is.....now, these people who defaulted on their loans when the banks raised the interest rates are wanting YOU and ME (the taxpayers) to pay their mortgages while they stay in the homes! Worse yet, the Democrats are blaming Bush (will it ever end?) for the problem that they themselves helped create.

This problem is due to:

#1-DEMOCRAT GOVERNMENT (Clinton Administration)
#2-IGNORANT homebuyers (or maybe not ignorant, but maybe the SAME people who just think they are "entitled" to "free" things from the US Gvmt)
#3-Predatory Lenders, of course they did this, they are BUSINESSMEN! Are you going to open up a new business in your hometown to just GIVE AWAY all your profits to every person that walks in there demanding and saying they are OWED your products?!?!?
