Mccain knew about Davis's connections to Fannie and Freddie even though claiming the relationshiop ended in 05-06.

This whole thing needs to be investigate further. We need to know just what that 15,000 per month that was being paid to Davis's Firm was for. I'll bet someone in the press digs deeper and finds out more.

Busted! Now why would Rick Davis go begging Freddie Mac for 15 grand a month for doing nothing? More importantly why would Freddie Mac keep making payments for 2 years for no services? No wonder Freddie Mac went belly up when they were paying big money to lobbyists and getting nothing in return.

His firm must be forced to pay back us taxpayers now that we own the majority share of this ethically bankrupt company. "Lobbyist Lover" McCain had better fire him as campaign manager. Obama got rid of Johnson when the hypocrites began whining about him.

We also need to stop the practice of offshore corporations that want to do business here in the USA while evading paying US taxes. We don't need any more Halliburton tax payer ripoff companies like "Darth" Cheney ran.

The Times again, way to go Times. Rick Davis just gives me the heebie jeebies but I am starting to see a pattern emerge and I think the armor around McCain and the press is final being penetrated. As Amy Pohler said in her SNL skit with Tina Fey "the press need to get some if they don't they can borrow hers" and maybe they were listening. Yesterday with the major networks threatening not to even publish the pictures of SP at the UN without reporter access they stood up against this ridiculous unprecedented bubble around their candidates and didn’t let the campaign dictate them. Although I think 29 seconds is a little insulting. My hats off also to ABC nightly news last night which did not cover the visit at all while NBC did.

The real issue here and now is -- What is Rick Davis hoping to get out of a McCain administration. There may be a question of judgment on the part of John McCain -- did he or does he really know the people he has hired to work for him -- but, on the other hand, what's in it for Rick Davis? Is it a belief in John McCain (if so, why hide from him his Freddie Mac association), or a belief that he will be well placed to profit from John McCain? That's why the issue of his ties to Freddie Mac are important -- was his retainer fee kept in the hopes that he could influence John McCain to see things his way (assuming that John McCain felt differently about the issue)?

Again, not an issue in and of itself, but like the earmarks, it became an issue when he tried to put it in the forefront and use it against Obama.
