What is amazing to me is the lack of investigation into the oil price decline over the past 2 months despite 2 major hurricanes and tens of rigs being damanged or shut down.

Why isn’t McCain getting credit for the decline?

Let’s review the facts:
1) Oil tops $140/barrel and the cost begins hand wringing about the increased price of goods, airline ticket increases, etc.
2) McCain evaluates the situation and decides that despite his former reluctance to drill off-shore, a re-evaluation was necessary. McCain decides that with advancements in technology it is less risky to drill off-shore than at any time in history. He also knows that the oil price is a futures market and that any perception that more supply is coming would lead futures buyers to look elsewhere for profit. McCain changes his position on off-shore drilling.
3) His pressure on President Bush leads to Bush’s lifting of the moratorium on off-shore drilling.
4) Democrat-led Congress refuses to pass legislation on behalf of the American people, but the futures market sees that there is real intention on the part of McCain and the Republicans.
5) Oil price has fallen almost $40/barrel since its highwater mark this past summer.
6) Obama, playing the middle of the road (which is politically expedient and smart), has remained silent on the issue.
7) McCain’s leadership led to lower oil and gas prices.

There is only ONE leader in this race.

Ah, the greedy and racist Planned Parenthood is giving money to support pro-abortion candidates. No surprise there. They have plenty to give. After all they millions in taxpayer dollars and they profit millions in their lucrative abortion industry. Yes, they love to end life for money and then support those who protect their right to continue ending life for money. As for being racist, a recent headline noted how black babies are aborted at rates well higher than white babies. No surprise. That was the goal of abortion promoters like Margaret Sanger from the beginning...to "limit" the black population. Of course, the media would never look into that because it might actually taint the rosy perception of those who claim to champion "women's rights" and "reproductive rights". Let's call it what it is...blood money with racist motives. My prayer is that just as slavery ended due to the courage and perserverance of good folks, so will abortion. Oh for the day Planned Parenthood is seen for who they really are.

Its ground operations that will win or lose this thing, barring any dramatic change to the campaign dynamics, like a terrorist attack, etc. But having Sharpton involved could be a double edged sword.

Speaking of potential terrorist attacks, I saw in a British paper that intelligence agencies throughout the West are picking up an al Qaeda interest to hit the U.S. in October. Why? The chatter from al Qaeda is pointedly talking about impacting the election.

Bin Laden reportedly takes some credit for the re-election of Bush and now wants the Republicans to retain the White House, because his focus is on recruitment - his organization's goals depend on recruitment - and attracting new members is an easier sell with a belligerent-appearing U.S. president.

Al and his crew are still tied to the old-school Civil-Rights era, and his very presence will bring cries of PLAYING THE RACE CARD from the right. He could be another distraction that the McCain camp will use against Obama (especially now that Obama has a 9pt lead over him).

why should McClown get credit? Big Oil backs republicans and tends to lower prices on fuel right before every election. Now... with the price of oil jumping 21 dollars per barrell the other day... that's not good news for McClown... but since he's in Big Oils pocket and they have a vested interest in who wins... numbers will be as low as they can get them.

As for Sharpton...

What he's going to do is... not only register voters... he's going to ensure people update their licenses and state IDs to reflect current addresses. he was in Cleveland last go around when people were turned away and they are not going to be turned back this time. The African American vote is going to be insane this time around... I think its something the polls can't pick up and republicans are underestimating.

Registering new voters is good no matter who is
involved.
When and if the media decides to give fair coverage
to both parties, perhaps the voters will get more

Cannot believe, with the importance of this election,
