The American economy is in a loose-loose situation. Because of the policies of Republicans, as represented by Bush and McCain, America looses if the proposal before Congress passes and if it doesn’t pass. Ironically, Bush is expecting the Democrats to be the fall guys for the consequences of eight years of Bush-McCain policy by passing the proposal without bipartisan support. While America looses with or without the legislation, the public (voters) will be angry against those who acted, instead of those who created the problem. John McCain from the start of his primary campaign to this moment has demonstrated a reckless and directionless aproach. It has been difficult to understand just what he really believes because he has jumped around so much looking for votes. Then he ran a sleezey ad campaign, picked a VP who no one wantes to put in front of the cameras anymore, and he continues to confuse things day after day. I think he is likely a good one or two issue man and can bully his way through the halls of lawmakers. But, he clearly cannot envision a larger picture, get a focus on where he is going, and lead the country in a very complex time. And, hey, I'm an old guy who likes telling my old stories. But, I am SICK of hearing John continue to play the sympathy card and trying to suck out votes by playing on valor. He lost most of my respect during the weeks of listening to his lies.

Just my read...McCain's inability to look Obama in the eye stems from two character flaws: l) He is selfconscious around people who are obviously more intelligent than he 2) Failure to look at the person you are addressing indicates that your words carry an element of deceit that will be discerned by that person if you allow them to look into your eyes. His obvious disdain for Obama was evident even in his inability to look at him when he shook hands at the start. John told so many obvious lies that he had to avert his eyes throughout the debate. One blunder that he made that will come back to haunt him is having bragged about his choice of "Maverick" Palin as his running mate. From all indications, the many calls by conservative pundits for him to drop her from the ticket seem to indicate that the Republicans are scared that she is going to drag him down even further. My prediction is that there will be no vice presidential debate. She'll either come down with an illness, or the Repugs will pull her from the ticket just prior to the debate. Either way, it won't fool the public and will sink his campaign.

In 2008, McCain was found and branded by the extreme right wing of the Republican Party.
Maniac: somebody who is given to rapidly changing ideas and impulsive behavior. Crashes two or more airplanes learning to fly. After a 15 minute interview, selects an unqualified individual to be president of the United States. Can’t remember how many houses he owns. Says the fundamentals of the economy are strong but later says he meant to say the American worker is strong. Says he will suspend his campaign to work on the fiscal crisis then gives a campaign speech at the nonpartisan Clinton conference, sings about bombing Iran. Tells Letterman he’s got to get back to DC to work on the fiscal crisis but does an interview with someone else and leaves town the next day.
