At the urging of Phil Grahm, deregulation was the religion they followed, and now McCain( the De-Regulator) is the one to straighten out the economy. Throw the bums out!!!! When McCain says he'll dump nuclear waste in his own backyard in Arizona, maybe someone will believe he wants to "rescue" America and save us all from this economic disaster caused by the republicans, until then it's all talk to win and he can never change that fact. Can't be Obama he is talking about. Obama wants more drilling and nuclear power, except done in a orderly fashion with adult supervision. Unlike McCain, he is smart enough to know these are only part of a long term solution that does not get us immediate relief. Only conservation gets us immediate relief, but McCain is not ready to ask the public and the oil companies to make small sacrifices today.

I believe he may have been referring to his own advisors who believe that higher prices will solve the problem.

McCain has no idea of the consequences of storing nuclear waste. Let's put it this way. Would you want nuclear waste stored in your back yard? Would you feel completely safe? Well that's what Mccain is asking the folks in Nevada to do. Store the nuclear waste in their back yards. And he is against such waste being transported through Arizona to get to Nevada. What does that tell you?

There is absolutely no way at this time to assure the Amercian people that nuclear waste can be stored anywhere or at anytime in a safe and non-threatening manner. One accident, one incident, could wipe out an entire State or Region very quickly.

That is what McCain does not tell you.

We need a new mentaility in this country. A return to the simple, safe and less materialistic times. We need to get closer to our environment and to learn once again to live off the land without all the modern fertilization that is poisoning our lands, lakes and oceans. Give us towns with gas lit lamps, horse drawn carriages, a community that supports one another, music on the common green on Wednesday nights, extended familes living near and supporting one another, people who place health, family and happiness over material things, and yes good hard work, and watch the stress levels in this country begin to evaporate.

Well, I disagree with most of you. You want an answer but identify no means of achieving it. I guess this makes you perfect for Obama, who provides you the answer but also doesn't address how. You can't go green and expect results tomorrow, this is not only impossible industrially, but also technolgically. What McCain proposes is a union of the two lines of thinking. Why does it always have to be one or the other?

And as far as deregulation is concerned, if I remember right there were two bills past resulting in this, one signed by Clinton. Just face the facts, the economy is in the dog house, and the only thing folks can do is play the blame game and listen to negative media dribble. Actually both parties are to blame, each one just as much as the other. I find it interesting that people can deride republicans for over spending, but then when certain ones try to adjust and bring things in line with responsible spending, you deride them further. I guess it's ok to overspend as long as it's a democrat doing the spending.

If McCain wins I'll be happy to have avoided further calamity, having someone who can manage and lead responsibly. If Obama wins I'll be happy, cause then in four years I can say, " I told ya so".
