I'm glad that Bill was much more effusive in praising Obama. He needs to keep his message discipline and not lose focus on who the real enemy is. I sure hope that he makes more campaign stops like this for Obama.

Barack Obama and John McCain were back in the Senate on Wednesday for the bailout legislation and the "political tension was clear," the New York Times reports. "Obama walked to the Republican side of the aisle to greet Senator John McCain, who offered a chilly look and a brief return handshake."

Let the record reflect that Barack Obama made the approach to John McCain tonight.

As the two shared the Senate floor tonight for the first time since they won their party nominations, Obama stood chatting with Democrats on his side of the aisle, and McCain stood on the Republican side of the aisle.

So Obama crossed over into enemy territory.

He walked over to where McCain was chatting with Republican Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida and Independent Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut. And he stretched out his arm and offered his hand to McCain.

McCain shook it, but with a "go away" look that no one could miss. He tried his best not to even look at Obama.

Finally, with a tight smile, McCain managed a greeting: "Good to see you."

Obama got the message. He shook hands with Martinez and Lieberman -- both of whom greeted him more warmly -- and quickly beat a retreat back to the Democratic side.

Bill made the excellent point of the strengths, leadership and experience of Joe Biden. Bill stated that the next President will be so involved in getting the economy back in shape we will need a STRONG VP who know is stong on foreign policy and who can run the country and take care of the other important issues facing our country. Palin is not ready to lead on day one!

I watched President Clinton yesterday and for the first time since I rallied behind him when he ran and when he was president I was soo proud to have been under his leadership, It mad me realize even more how bad we need Obama to win. He even praised Obama's pick Biden (which that was the best decision Obama could have made for the country) Hillary probably would have been the kind of pick to help Obama win but Obam chose based on the good of the country. First Read, as well as most of the national press makes much of Obama material not getting national play. As I understand the Obama campaign strategy, they are focusing on electors in specific states and addressing issues of concern there. That is exactly what Clinton is doing in FL. Of more importance is what coverage is the message getting in the local presses.

McCain feeds the national press material, Obama less so. If the poll numbers indicate campaign strategic success, Obama appears to have the better strategy.

I think that Clintons will come thur in a big way down the stretch,I think that Obama has played his cards close to the vest.Knowing how much help they can produce in the battleground states.With the Bombers campaign in free fall I think that now will be the time to finish off the contest,I for don't put much faith in polls.but if they were belivable it would seem to favor Obama.I think Barack has shown that he has a plan to win this and that Bill has agreed to allow it to work.Hilliry will play a major roll in the weeks to come and the clintons will deliver Florida,Ohio,Pennsyvania,and maybe N,Carolina,and it will be game, set.match.and we will have a President for the people,of the people,and bring some dignity back to the President and to our country.Change is needed,hope is beliving that there is a better way,having a Prez that see's it Priceless!

Good for Bill. I knew he's come through for the country. Obama is what we need right now and here's why I support him.

While none of the Obama supporters are getting over-confident, we are all pleased that Americans are finally seeing what we've seen. I started to look at Obama after I read his first book, "Dreams of my Father". What a writer and what a life! He's not one of the priviledged. His father was a very poor Kenyan and his mother and grand-parents from working class white Kansas stock. Being bi-racial in America is not easy but he never whined about it--he just kept keeping on....And isn't that THE AMERICAN STORY? As a white woman, 64 and an ex-UAW member, I urge my working class buddies of both sexes and all races to take a good look at this most remarkable guy--go to his web site and look at his policies to lead America in a better direction. Change we can beleive is Obama.

Another Bill Clinton like administration is needed. He handled the economy pretty well. I do not agree with some of his foreign policies but we all have to admit that things were better off financially during his administration. There was even a surplus.

I do hope the same could be done by Obama. With McCain, we all know that's not going to happen for neigher he nor his VP understand economics.

Thanks for the campaign Bill. Hope to see more of that. Wish we could see Hilary on the trail also.

The Billary Clintons are still P'O'ed about Obama's defeat of Hillary. But they scarcely have the option to sit back and do nothing for Obama. If Palin/McCain win, Hillary realizes she will have Sarah Baracuda to run against in 4 years -- because McCain won't make it to a second term. By then, Sarah should have a long laundry list of "zingers" to feed the pundits, and that will make her GREAT in their eyes. Zingers matter!

I can see it now....the 2012 Presidential debates devolve into a slug fest on stage with Sarah Baracuda down on top of Hillary....punching her in the face and hair pulling....knashing her sharpened teeth....all the while, smiling at the audiance with her snarky looks and toothy grin.

Just what we all need -- a Clinton/Palin Cage Match to the Death, Las Vegas style! Place your bets! The voters can't rely on the media to tell us the truth anymore. We must rely on ourselves to put a stop to Palin/McCain before they get a foothold in the WH. We just can't afford to keep them there.

Bill's doing fine. If people listen to him closely he's always been exactly on target. McCain's a great man for what he DID. Obama should be president for what he WILL DO. Vote for the future. The Presidency is not a medal of honor for good military service (if you want to reward people for getting captured in the first place).
