While none of the Obama supporters are getting over-confident, we are all pleased that Americans are finally seeing what we've seen. I started to look at Obama after I read his first book, "Dreams of my Father". What a writer and what a life! He's not one of the priviledged. His father was a very poor Kenyan and his mother and grand-parents from working class white Kansas stock. Being bi-racial in America is not easy but he never whined about it--he just kept keeping on....And isn't that THE AMERICAN STORY? As a white woman, 64 and an ex-UAW member, I urge my working class buddies of both sexes and all races to take a good look at this most remarkable guy. Change we can beleive is Obama.

As with the primary, when people really are engaged and listen to Obama and understand his platform, his message and consistency in that message for the past 20 months, they see a real leader!! It has been 8 years since the United States had a "real" leader, people forget what it looks and feels like to see one!! Of course, the failed policies of the Bush Administration and the Republican/Evangelical ideology that has taken this nation to its knees doesn't hurt either!!!!! The Indiana poll is only 600 people! The republican negative ads are everywhere: especially the Wall Street Meltdown ad. But with most Hoosiers, Wall Street is far away from Main street so the ad is not that effective. Hope the republicans waste their money and keep running it. Tonight Hoosiers will watch the debate. Most Hoosiers are mindful that one-in-for Presidents did not complete their term in office and will ask if Palin is ready to be CiC on day 2. If we deem she is not ready, it will speak to McCain's judgement and put Indiana's 11 electoral votes in the Obama column.
The other factor has to do with the Obama worker bees. They are everywhere gathering honey-sweet votes. Early voting begins on Monday in Indiana.

It will be interesting -- the VP debate tonight will do one of two things: Palin might hit the low performance bar that her republican handlers and spin-doctors set for her (which only highlights the low standards that the McCain ticket has set for itself), or she will totally tank, sending her ticket on a path to implosion by Sunday Morning (i.e., political talk shows - George Will to write the obit). On the question of Palin's capability to be VP -- that horse has already left the barn!

It's a long month ahead with pitfalls and dirtytricks. McCain and his campaign have left a trail of evidence that paints a sad picture. John McCain lost and confused in the primaries. John McCain still had not found his direction at the end of the primaries. John McCain picks a poorly prepared and poorly veted VP and demonstrates his lack of concern for the nation that could end up with this unprepared VP as president. John McCain continues to propose policies that have failed the nation and have taken us to the brink of financial failure and created thousands of failures of small business. John McCain approves numerous ads of sleaze and lies just as George Bush. John and his VP choice can't speak to issues and get confused about all sorts of basics. What we get from them in the election is what we can expect in the oval office. The Campaign led by John McCain is in itself sufficient evidence to prove he cannot and should not lead the nation. I'd like to see a simple ad enumerating the failures of his campaign during the last two years...just clip after clip of how they have operated and how pathetic is the leadership they offer.

American's in the last two weeks have seen who will be a better leader. McCain's judgement and temperament are being questioned. What they see they do not like. Our Nation is at it's worse, and between both candidates Obama is the leader. We can't afford the risk of having four more years like the past eight. We can't afford to have a McBush nor a not ready VP as leader's they would destroy what is left, they would have us all fighting against each other. It is incomprehensible to me that Chuck Todd is still showing Michigan & Colorado as toss-up states. Obama leads both by wide margins and has led in Colorado for many weeks. MSNBC is doing to Obama now what they did during the primaries - refusing to acknowledge the size of his lead, so that they can continue to sell the horse race. Chuck should take a good look at fivethirtyeight.com and realclearpolitics.com for an idea of how far off the mark he is at the moment.
