For the life of me I can't understand why McCain would be going on the character attack like this. He and his crew HAD to have known that if they started attacking Barack Obama's character that someone, very likely Obama himself, would play the 'Keating 5' card.

Why would McCain want to highlight what he himself describes as his biggest mistake?

Seriously, what alleged crimes have Obama and Ayers committed in their 15 year relationship (25 years AFTER Ayers' crimes - Obama was 8 years old). Palin gave a speech THIS year at the Alaskan Separtist Group and McCain actually committed a crime and was censured in the Keating 5. Come on, make sure you are squeaky clean before you cast stones.

Speaking of character did you catch the The Madeleine Albright response to Palin muffing the Starbucks quote from her elitist latte cup?

I'm sorry that McCain has chosen to drag the race into the mud; he'd promised a respectful campaign based on the issues. It's sad to see him resort to fearmongering and smear tactics. Unfortunately, Obama has no choice but to respond.

I wish the MSM were fair in its appraisal of the negative attacks. Unfortunately, whatever smut the McCain camp brings forward against Obama must be explored and explained whether true or not. I hope Americans don't fall for it this time. McCain is a desperate man who's willing to do anything to win a presidency that he thinks he's entitled to.
