Where is the right-wing outrage that Tom Brokaw is hosting? I've been waiting for it since the veep debate. You know, when Republicans are losing, they like to distract and blame the media, or the moderator in the case of debates. See: Gwen Ifill.

I'm just surprised that nobody has called Tom Brokaw 'in the tank' for the Democrats.

Wow. First McCain ensured his odd choice for a running mate couldn't be asked follow-up questions in her only debate of the campaign, and now they've negotiated not only no follow-ups for McCain himself, but we can't even see the questioner's reactions to the answer?

And this is a town hall... the format McCain loves, and presumably is favored in.

Oh, I get it. They don't want us to see a questioner looking perplexed at the Republican nominee when the question is about deregulation, and the answer is about how Obama will raise everyone's taxes to fund domestic terrorism.

I certainly hope that Tom Brokaw understands that his lack of neutrality over the past several weeks has been troubling. His cheerleading for the McCain campaign on MTP has been anything but subtle. Anything less than a purely objective performance tonight from Mr. Brokaw risks tarnishing his legacy.

This 'debate' format is a lot of hooey. Why can't there be followup questions by the questioner? None by Tom Brokaw either? What a joke, more encloaking the candidates in their protective cocoons.

All this evening will do, will show how angry McCain is and how serene Obama is under pressure, of course that is OK by me being a supporter of Sen Obama.

If the grumpy old man comes out all negative then he'll get the negative response from the viewers. Us voters want straight answers to real issues, not a bunch of worthless character assasination distractions. Tonight is Barack Obama's chance to put the Bill Ayers distraction to rest. Even though candidates are "not supposed to ask each other direct questions" he can put McCain on the spot. Character issues will surely come up, and Obama can pivot to: "Senator McCain, weeks ago your campaign clearly implied that I called your running mate a pig when I used a common expression to describe your policies that you often used yourself. After creating quite an uproar, when later asked directly, you admitted that you didn't think I was referring to your running mate that way. Now she is going on and on about my Chicago neighbor who is very involved in education today but did some things I've described as despicable 40 years ago. So I ask you tonight to look me in the eye and tell me whether you think I share the beliefs that caused Bill Ayers to do what he did back when I was 8 years old." Make the Old Man put up or shut up.

Negative campaigning is an act of desperation and it won't work on the undecided voters who hold our future in their hands.

I am not worried about the format- town hall is just fine, I dont think Obama has ever had a problem with it, the MSM seems to think so but we will see. The real problem here is the moderator, Tom Brokaw has shown a real bias in this election. Tom Brokaw is a staunch republician and should be called on it when he goes down that road, and he will. They say there is a bias in the media, well there is , only its not
liberal. There are 2 shows with a real liberal bias, and a leaning liberal showw. Keith O. and Rachel M.
totally liberal and Chris M. leaning. You cant name another show on any station that has not done their best to dismiss Obama as a inexperienced candidate.
It seems the voters are really own their own when it comes to news and real unbiased coveragee of these candidates. ( I am not real religious ). But God help us all, if end up with another 4 years like the last 8 years.

How come you did not mention, the fact that at a rally in Fl yesterday, the sheriff of Lee County, in uniform, extolled the partisan crowd, that come Nov 4th "we would show Barack Hussein Obama, and he would not know what hit him" or in other words, we'll show that uppity n##### his place.
Disgusting to see all those white faces cheering such sentiments. A disgrace to his uniform, an elected official suppose to uphold the law, espousing such thoughts. NOt much chance of getting a fair shake in that county. There are two Floridas, so there is a 50/50 chance that the better angels will prevail. One can only hope so.

Sara Palin compared Barack’s followers to the Germany’s in pre-WWII Nazi Germany. I submit to you that she’s put the shoe on the wrong foot. It's clear, unless McCain demonstrates the ability to literally fly around the auditorium tonight - and maybe not even then - that this is a race that has finally passed him by. The numbers have slipped beyond his ability keep it reasonably close, and the campaign is leaking on by telegraphing its final mode of attack. Given the timing, they're essentially admitting that they know they can't win on anything pertinant to the issues people are facing in the world. Otherwise, Big Mac and the boys would've been rolling out Ayers, Rezko and Wright back in June & July. Only NOW is that stuff pressingly relevant??

And to see the sexy, uninformed Hockey Mom out there to bring it up is just comedy. She clearly doesn't know about have the stuff she's going out there in saying, so it's kinda funny to watch her go at these types of issues, when she's more than proven to have the same intellectual curiosity as George W.
