Apparently when asked, McSlander doesn't seem to support the Hate Crime bill. It sounds as though he views it as unnecessary. Given the tone of his campaign and the tenor of his crowds I thought it a really strange question and curious response.

Having watched the campaign cycle since the early primaries, I can't help asking "what are these people talking about?" This has been one of the most talented fields of candidates on both sides, and the most hotly contested in some time. Neither of the candidates for national office snuck up on anybody, they both slogged through a long campaign season. Nor has anyone other than the Newbee Gov. Palin been unvetted. Both McCain and Obama have been vetted ad nauseum. The only "discovery" issue left would be Gov. Palin who was introduced a few weeks ago and has yet to have even one open press conference. Finally, anybody watching would have to admit that the presidential campaign has not been gentle. Both sides have played hard. So the anger that is reflected here is a bit mystifying. Are they mad at Obama because he's ahead? This is similar to the anger shown by Sen. Clinton's supporters at the end of the Democratic primaries.

So... my question is - when did our politics come down to this anger in the losing sides?

We are NOT a product of our associations. Whoever believes that has no integrity. I'm pretty sure McCain misquoted Ayers when he said "he still wanted to bomb more". when I heard that last Spring, I interpreted it mean that Ayers had wished the Weather Underground had acheived more in the early 70's when they are active.

Maybe some of the republicans who also served on these boards with Ayers should show some integrity and speak up.
