Biden knows the poltics of everything. He understands the subtle attacks the McCain campaign is waging. He is able to see beyond the intent and redirect these attacks. I think it was for this very reason that Biden was selected. Hillary demostrated an inability to do this very thing during the primary and it cost her the nomination.
