We'll stop multimillion-dollar payouts to CEOs that have broken the public trust." Later in the week he decided the real culprit was the chairman of the SEC and called for his resignation.

On 60 Minutes the following Sunday John was asked: “In 1999 you were one of the senators who helped pass deregulation of Wall Street. Do you regret that now?” John responded: “No, I think the deregulation was probably helpful to the growth of our economy.” But then he went on to characterize Wall Street as follows: “It's basically a Ponzi scheme, as you know, that sooner or later was gonna collapse.” Huh?

Now John wants to tell the wide-eyed children among us a very different story. Instead of the greedy Wall Street CEOs or chairman Cox, John has found a whole new cast of villains. John now claims that the entire global financial meltdown has been caused by Fannie, Freddie, the sinister ACORN, and in a shocking surprise; Barack Obama! Simple stories for simple minds, I guess.
First thoughts: One more Ayers-ing

How worried should the McCain campaign be about these rowdy crowds that McCain-Palin receive (and it's really Palin that draws them since she's the one who fires folks up)? The sputtering campaign candidate of one of the least approved presidents of all time is behind in the polls to one of the most well oiled political campaign machines in history?

That people aren't buying into the Swift Boat tactics of 2004? That people are looking for a real shift in this country? You're SERIOUSLY stunned by this?

Maybe the Republican party is worse off than I thought.

"We're betting McCain or Palin has a ready line for lecturing an over-the-top supporter, which at this point seems inevitable"

So... If McCain was so patriotic he should have insisted on some kind of investigation of a fellow lawmaker. It is obvious that he is either not so patriotic and didn't care or that he is presently a liar about his concern. I think both are true. McCain has proven that he is interested not in the welfare of the country or individuals. He is interested in winning. He has dishonored the nation and himself by the charade he performs. McCain the liar and McCain the once said to be patriot.

First thoughts: One more Ayers-ing

One thing that never gets reported in the anti-ACORN frenzy is that ACORN, like all people registering voters, must by law turn in all forms that they collect. McCain and his sidekick have opened the door to hate and racism.
Obama was an Elitist Celebrity and now he is a Shady Terrorist loving anti american Muslim???
McCain has so many Shady connections like Charles Keating, G Gordon Liddy, as well as serving on a BOARD with known Neo Nazi's, supporters of Latin American death squads and outright racists.
Now The GOP wants to blame The Dems and POOR PEOPLE for this Economic Collapse.
Sound Familiar????

In Germany after WW1 the German blamed the JEws for their hardships. We know what happened
In Salem people blamed Witches for their problems, hunted them down and burned them.
Here is America McCarthy hunted down so called Communists and anyone who had an association with that person or others and ruined peoples lives.
With Economy tanking everyday dont we need inspiration?? Change???
McCain s now Playing to a MOB MENTALITY at rallies where people are saying they want all of Obamas associations revealed. People are cheering this as well as hateful screams of Kill Him, Terrorists, Treason etc....
IS THIS WHAT WE HAVE COME TOO???
The Guilt by association game can be played on anyone of us and McCain should know better.
Here is McCains friend Keating.

Keating to McCain in 1986: ‘I’m yours til death do us part.’»

The Washington Times reports that in 1986, John McCain wrote a note on House stationery to Charles Keating, chairman of a failed savings and loan association who went to prison in the late 1980s. In the letter, McCain apologized for listing Keating as part of his Senate campaign finance committee. Keating wrote in response: “You can call me anything, write anything or do anything. I’m yours till death do us part“:

McCain has acknowledged his friendship with Keating, who helped funnel campaign contributions to McCain in the 80s. After Keating turned to McCain to try to stave off government intervention during the scandal, the Senate Ethics Committee admonished him for seemingly intervening with federal regulators on behalf of Keating.

First thoughts: One more Ayers-ing

I never thought I would feel 'sorry' for the GOP, and their use of scorched earth policies, they are pathetic.

There is no there there with the Ayers connection. It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. Mitchell, attorney general at that time, and W.
