I don’t trust Coleman in the least, but this is a really smart move. I hope Franken follows him. Here in Minnesota everyone I talk to is sick to death of the mudslinging.

I think it’s interesting that Coleman says he wants to offer hope. This is typical of his hitching his wagon to whatever rising star of the day might be on the horizon.

I appreciate Sen. Coleman for this decision. While I haven't always agreed with is political positions, his decision shows a willingness to stand on his own merit and force (at least from his angle) the discussion on the issues that are effecting us all. I am sure many will find alterior motives behind this decision, but the end result is an election policy that is necessary if we are to effectively make decisions as a voting public that effect our daily lives.

Here we may have a candidate for Profiles of Courage. Smart decision. But the big question for McCain and most republicans is..."What else it there to run on". Republicans are on the wrong side of the economic issue, the energy issue, and the wars. This must be a viewer of CNN who watched the viewers response when McCain went negative.

Well said. By poking at the other guy, the message is "This guy is bad, so vote for me because I'm not as bad." Whereas the message should be "This is why I'll do a fantastic job" and "These are my policies and this is how they'll help."
