I do not watch FOX in fact I have deleted from all my tv's but received an e-mail today that say's "Hannity is going to do a special tonite about Obama and all his radical ties. He is so excited about it". I cannot watch Hannity he just makes me gag so will not be watching program.

Illinois already had a law to protect live born babies and the proposed legislation was just another attack on choice for women. Barack Obama believes we women can make reasonable choices for ourselves as Sarah Palin has for herself. Choice does not always mean abortion, sometimes it involves getting the help you need financially or medically or emotionally and also choosing to have the baby with this help. I am a democrat used to be republican. I am against and actually detest abortion.

But when one considers who to select as the next President, all life must be taken into account, not just some. How many people are likely to die under a President.

From 2001 to 2007, the republican’s controlled the entire government., that is both Houses of Congress and the Executive branch. During that time when they had the reins, they did essentially nothing to stop the massive numbers of abortions. But what they did do is unjustifiably invade another country, a country that was almost totally controlled at the time with our inspectors going anywhere and our planes in the air. Tens of thousands of people have now been slaughtered as a result of this invasion. I believe these people count as humanity too.

Yes, I ask how many people are likely to die under a President. Right now Bush’s numbers are very high and that does NOT include abortion.

John McCain, being a one dimensional thinker (condemn, threaten, attack) is NOT simply more of the same, he is actually worse. Bush actually thinks and gathers facts before he acts. Bottom of the class, can’t get the words right McCain does NOT and in our current world, that is dangerous.

Self Inflicted Wounds

Tucker Bounds and the McCain campaign - if you can call it that - are a complete embarrassment to this nation. There is only one reason people are yelling "terrorist" at McCain / Palin rallies - because their ads and candidates are saying Obama "pals around with terrorists that want to destroy our country".

It's quite simple. It has nothing to do with Mr. Bounds' ridiculous assertion that their supporters are so frustrated they have to yell "muslim", and "kill him" because of the prospect of a tax policy we had for 8 years under the Clinton administration. As far as excuses go - it's not a very good one.

They merely echo the ignorant talk radio hosts (Hannity & Limbaugh) that get paid millions to divide this nation with horsecrap insinuating that Obama somehow is not a patriotic American. They know full well they are inciting these low information, and for the most part - low IQ voters and whipping them into a frenzy.

I am not ready to pat McCain on the back for doing what he was forced to do because even he can't stomach the results of his campaigns "message". It's telling that he was booed by these so called "country first" good Christian Americans when he was simply saying is decent.

There he was - a poor old man knowing full well that Obama was 8 years old when Ayers did what Obama himself has called "detestable acts", having to explain to HIS OWN supporters that his opponent is a citizen of this country and is a decent family man you needn't fear should he become President.

McCain looked ashamed and he should be.

The reality is I love this country as much as McCain and Obama - I love this country as much as the whackjob in the rural town (or anywhere else for that matter) that hears Palin say "Obama thinks America is so imperfect that he would pal around with a terrorist that would bomb our nations capitol".

It's hard to dream up something more irresponsible to say to a large crowd.

IT IS NOT A LEAP TO ASSUME that NO doubt some of their less intelligent supporters (and there is no shortage) will think because of this "message" that they need to act on behalf of this nation and somehow "save" our country from "terrorist Obama". You do the math.

Last night, as he found himself in the middle of the stench his own campaign has created, it was sadly clear that McCain isn't even able to lead his own campaign - let alone this nation.

Excerpting the middle of a sentence in a way that reverses the entire sentence as the current ad calling Mr Obama dishonorable is lying. Saying the Mr Obama is "palling around" with terrorists is lying. Saying that Mr Obama voted 94 times to raise taxes is lying. When you are parroting the words of a campaign staff that don't care about the difference between truth and lies, you're going to lying a lot.

And while we're on the subject, I dispute the characterization of Mr Ayers as a terrorist. The Weather Underground worked very hard to plan their bombings is a way to avoid injuring or killing anyone. Terrorism is the deliberate targeting of civilians to advance a political cause. That is not an accurate picture of the Weather Underground. But then you wouldn't know that because I am pretty sure you never even heard the words until you were selected to be the VP candidate.

Abortion is not a topic, issue or reason to vote one way or anouther. It CAN NOT be affected simply by the election of a president.
She should have left this subject at the door in Wasilla, Alaska and came to the table with what she can change and what she does know; although I'm not convinced there is anything she does know.

I have been and remain pro-life, but I've changed my perspective this year.

The myopic focus on making abortion illegal is adolescent - it stems from an "I am right and good and you are wrong and bad" mentality.

While I believe that overturning Roe v Wade would reduce overall abortions a bit, it is not the answer. The answer is to both reduce unwanted pregnancies through better sex education and access to contraceptives, as well as provide appropriate healthcare and infant placement for pregnant women who currently have limited and poor options when they become pregnant.

We can reduce abortions, but we have to do it with caring and compassion for all life - not just the lives of the unborn.

By the by - McKane supports embryonic stem cell research and the expansion of the death penalty.

Though pro-choice, I believe abortions will decrease with Obama in the White House (as they did under Clinton) rather than increase (as they have under Bush).
