I'm surprised that we haven't seen more of Senator Webb. I was one of the folks who thought that Webb would be the veep choice for Obama... I still think that he would be/is a great surrogate for the Democratic nominee.

What's amazing is how George Soros laundered the money that he got to the Obama campaign. Checking the donor lists will take time, but for sure many of the names will pure fiction. Interesting that, altho neither Politico, nor you, speak about the type of ads that were run in NoVa, there was Morning Joe this morning, talking about how Obama ran 1,342 NEGATIVE ads in the area to McCain's 8. Apparantly he just decided to take the facts and throw in his assumptions that all of the ads were negative, as there is absolutely no factual basis for his claims whatsoever. Another sterling non-partisan performance for the so-called 'liberal' MSNBC.

"taking in" $250,000 total revenue is different than earning $250,000 in profit. Since salary is an expense, earning $250,000 profit plus his salary is doing pretty well in my book! Good on him for creating the American dream. He should pay taxes.

I wish he'd spend more in Philly. It seems that all we get here are McCain attack ads.

On another note, a threatning letter was found at an Obama campaign office in South Philly with a strange substance that turned out, fortunately, to be brown sugar. If McCain/Palin don't think that their backhanded accusations of "terrorism" and stirring up unrest at their (KKK?) rallies aren't having an effect, they should seriously consider that next time it could be something worse and innocent people could be hurt.

McCain might sound like he's spending less than Obama, but I'm not seeing a figure on how much the Republican National Committee is spending. In previous elections, it was the RNC that had the financial muscle to drown out the Democrat's advertising. Just saying: I'm not crying for McCain when the RNC and other groups with a stake in maintaining the status quo are spending furiously to keep the race close.

Small businesses are up and arms about taxes, well hell...if the people who are supporting your business do not have the money to fund your operation; that is a bigger problem.

Most small business' are more expensive anyway; that's why Walmart is so popular. However, if Americans have that extra money to spend, they will be more than willing to support you and those high prices you offer...you might even be able to charge more for an item.

The problem is not you paying higher taxes, it is about the consumer's having money to patronize your business. If not, you pay the higher taxes and the consumer can not afford to buy from you and eventually you go out of business.

I believe I would rather see consumers with extra money in their pockets to help my business flourish.

I have to admit that its a bit uncomfortable to read the dialogue between Obama and that hard working plumber but I am still willing to give Obama a chance. I simply do not trust McCain and, god knows, I can't stand Palin. I'm giving Obama 4 years to show me that he can help the American people. If he fails to impress me then I'll vote another way.

First of all... who really cares about how much more money Obama is spending? Maybe some people get a little more than sick of seeing all of his dumb commercials. I live in a state where he WILL NOT win and yet he is still running them here. What a complete waste of good money. I'm surprised that while we live in these "hard economic" times that people are so willing to hand over anything that have to this man.

Second... why is this plumber in Ohio going to be punished if Obama becomes president? Can someone please explain how it is "fair" to spread the wealth around that you or I have worked so hard for? It is so sad to see what Obama wants to make our country. Give me one good reason, under this man, that I should want to work for anything at all? Where is the pride in working hard & doing your best & being the best at what you do? Under Obama I can be as lazy as I want and I'm still going to get some of your hard earned profit. Good Lord, did Obama tell a voter the truth, yes he did. He wasnt embarressed to tell the truth. I think
that is comendable, even if he lost a vote, its worth it to know you are being honest and not pandering every time you open your mouth. I wish all the luck in the world to that man who is buying his business, I am sure he will do well and provide for his familey
very well. I know a lot of hard working people who work those same kind of hours with the same kind of back breaking work, they dont make even 50,000. a year. So when times are hard we all have to help, I dont make 30,000. but even I can poney up a little more money because I dont owe anybody and my kids are grown. I wouldnt be upset about it. I wouldnt have been able to say that when my children were small.
All I ever here is Obama is going to raise taxes, well how does anyone think we will ever get out of this mess without someone paying. The most important thing is that we have jobs, if we have jobs we can help.

Before anyone jumps on Obama for that "spreading the wealth around" quote, consider the income level he's talking about: $250,000. I'm a successful business owner and I don't reach anywhere near that income level. And if I did I'd be willing to share some of it around for the good of the country. So I've got no problem with Obama's policy. And any plumber who nets $250,000 a year is probably charging too much anyway.

wowwwwwwwwww!! that's a tremendous amount of money - raised largely from small donors like myself.

Everytime McPalin says something outrageous, I go right to my Obama home page and click the donate button. EVERY SINGLE TIME! $5, $10, whatever I have. And for really major idiocy on their part, such as the "palling around with terrorist" comment, I donated even more. I would guess plenty of others do the same!
