But honestly, he needs to knock Obama off of his game . . . and that is ALL that he has! It sucks because if he does what he MUST do he loses. And if he doesn't and tries to go toe to toe with Obama on economic policies Obama will tie him up and again . . . he'll lose. Is it just coincidence? The day that both candidates were to unveil new economic plans, the stock market makes a huge jump up towards recovery. The day after Obama's plan was announced, the stock market remained close to the same. But the day after McCain's plan was announced, the stock market resumed its plummet. Hmmm, makes one wonder.

I hope the election day will be here soon and we will elect Sen.Obama as President and can focus on cleaning up this mess. Pres.Bush has not paid attention before and he is not going to start now in the last 100 days. It is up to us people to elect the best candidate for President. The news about Nancy Reagan and Dick Cheney should remind us of Sen.McCain's age and scary thought of Gov.Palin in the white house. I am not expecting miracles from Sen.Obama but if he shows the same discipline and intelligence in his presidency as in this campaign, we should have a successful four years. As an independent, my vote is not granted. At the end of the four years, I will look at the playing field and vote for the best candidate. Do not forget to vote.

Whoa boy. Not good news. You know. These bad economic times were sort of predictable don't you think. I mean here we are i n the U.S. living on a scale above that of the rest of the world, reaching those higher standarfds by living off of credit to the hilt and entering into international policing actions that cost us millions of dollars. Our pay does not keep up wit hthe increase in prices or cost of living expenses and we end up expecting people making minimum wage or slightly above (even 30,000 + annually) to raise a family, find a place to live, buy and pay for transportation and gas, buy food, have a phone, pay utilities, school supplies, on and on and on. And we thought people could continue to live like that without over extending themselves on credit? I don't think so. What was the average cost of a home before the market fell and what was an avergae monthly mortgage payment? And we expected people to be able to find shelter for their families withthese wages without getting in over their heads. Yeah right. Ask your young kids getting ourt of high school (or even college) how much it cost to find a decent apartment or house to rent. Come on people. We knew this was coming. The U.S. has lived far beyond its means for years now. The rich have gotten richer and the middle class has decreased (not up but down). You can't pay people 10.00, 11.00, 12.00 etc. an hour or even more while taking out large chunks for health care premiums, insurance, taxes, and expect them to raise a family and pay all the bills based on our cost of living. It was not going to happen.

Let's say a person even makes 15.00 / hour. After premiums and taxes, etc they may take home 1,600 a month. Now we have them paying what in rent, what is rent for a decent place in your area, 500., 600., 700., what? That leaves them 900. month or less for transportation, food, gas, family needs, clothing, utilities, miscellaneous expenses, and other expenses required just to survive (without any frills).

No wonder people over extended their creidt. They had to just to survive and have a roof over their heads.

Don;t know any people making those kinds of hourly wages and trying to raise a family. We'll there are thousands out there and they are not hard to find. Find one and ask them how they make it?

Barack Obama's supporters often try to sidestep questions about his character and judgment by saying that we should stick to what they arbitrarily define as "the real issues." But Senator Obama's record on specific issues is as bad as his record of repeatedly allying himself over the years with people who make no attempt to hide their hatred of America. Among the so-called "real issues" are earmarks for senators' pet projects, like the "bridge to nowhere." These are among the most indefensible parts of the inbred Washington political culture, which Obama has so often claimed to be against, as part of his promise of "change" to "clean up the mess in Washington."
Yet Sen. Obama not only voted in favor of the bridge to nowhere, he voted against anti-earmark amendments proposed by Senator John McCain.
Obama has had more than two dozen of his own earmarks in the past fiscal year, and he knows the Senate well enough to know that, if he voted against the bridge to nowhere, his own earmarks might get nowhere.
Those earmarks, incidentally, included a million dollars of the taxpayers' money for a facility where his wife works at the University of Chicago. Her salary rose by nearly $200,000 when her husband became a U.S. senator -- no doubt a shrewd investment by the university that paid off.
When a highly publicized bridge collapse in Minnesota in 2007 led Sen. Tom Coburn to propose taking money from federal spending on bicycle paths and use it for maintaining and repairing bridges instead, Senator Obama voted against it. The kind of people who vote for him want bike paths.
