Palin sees the handwriting on the wall and as the election gets closer watch how she will try and distance herself by way of innuendo from McCain so she can run on her own in four years. Here we thought Mccain might drop Palin but it seems that Palin will try and drop McCain. Sarah Palin's comments that the robocalls and other despicable means of campaigning are irritating is an understatement at best. It is shameful as a politician and mother that she condones such vile tactics. What are we teaching our children!
No matter how you slice it, calls that involuntarily come in to voters' home that are designed to instill fear and can be heard by young people as well as elderly are based on poor judgment and not meant to inform. Factual information that does not call for a stretch of the imagination is appropriate, but linking fine upstanding citizens running for presidents with terrorist based on logical interactions is seedy, slimy and downright incites violence! Senator McCain's relationship with G. Gordon Liddy would have to be explored as one could argue, based on Senator McCain's experience, he should have know better-repentant criminal or not-now is that fair. Oh, and what about this molestation and party switch accusation? This is no longer just extreme conservative/Republican talking points, it's bad actions, some of which,amount to criminal behavior and should be stopped.

That said, I'm still voting for him, and have been a supporter of his since the primary season. But my enthusiasm has certainly waned as this campaign has gone on, and some of his campaigning has left me a little irritated that he's so hypocritical.

Because I'm an Independent, I was getting a lot of annoying voice messages trying to get me to vote for McCain until I changed my voicemail greeting: "If you're calling to get me to vote for John McCain, don't bother to leave a message." I no longer get McCain messages, and the Obama folks get a kick out of my greeting. Probably wouldn't help with the robocalls, but otherwise it's working.

McCain and Palin are constantly misinterpreting and putting words in Obama's mouth!! For example, Obama said to 'Joe the Plumber' that we wanted to "spread the wealth", but that doesn't stop the GOP from declaring that Obama must want to "redistribute wealth" and the therefore a socialist.

The difference with Obama on Palin's comment is that his assertion was a fair representation of hers: if she were in charge she won't do it. Their representation of Obama's remark is a distortion.

Children HAVE been getting the robocalls and some of them have been very upset (understandably), being told that the man who might become president is allied to someone who blows up buildings and kills Americans (overlooking the fact that the only people killed by the Weathermen were their own people, in an accident!). I would hate for my young child to be subjected to that. --- I saw a story earlier about several mothers and fathers who are at least trying to make strong complaints because of it. I was undecided when the general election campaigns started. Like most of you, I've searched as many sources as possible to get to know all four of the candidates.

I am originally from Ohio (love my state despite "Joe the fairy tale republican"), I now live in Florida and although early voting started today, I'm travelling on business this week, but I assure you I'll be voting next Monday Obama/Biden!!!!!

As much as the image of Sarah Palin's characteristic wink (with her hand on our nuclear arsonal) scares me, John McCain frightens me more (if that is possible)!

Early voting is huge, especially because the campaigns get updates on who voted. If you live in a battleground, it helps the campaigns target resources on election day at the few persuadables who are left (and leave you alone). If you live in a locked state, it frees you to work as an election monitor (a little civic duty and a few bucks) or volunteer for the get out the vote drive of the candidate you support.

This is how big it is - over 190,000 people have already voted in Illinois in 1 week of early voting. Most of those folks support Obama, and that gives him a pool of tens of thousands (if not more) of potential volunteers to send to states like Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan and Indiana for get out the vote. Even more might take a few hours if they get the day off from work to phone bank. I'd assume McCain would have the same goal, but he hasn't pushed early voting as hard.

I just got back from early voting. Before I went in I was talking to a grp of young people and they were asking who they should vote for. I explained McCains plans then explained obamas friends, associates and his plan for America. They asked are you kidding I told them no I wasn't but they should choose for themselves.
