The latest news yet again highlights the hypocrisy of the McCain Palin campaign. They have gone above and beyond to try to convince Americans that Palin is not a typical politician, but just a regular person. In some cases they have succeeded as demonstrated by her total lack of competence and inability to function on this level.

But as more information is disclosed, we find something more disturbing - she:
- has been marred by the troopergate scandal where she was found to have some ethical issues;
- claimed per diem from tax payers for spending time at home;
- took Alaska's tax payers money to pay for her family's trips;
- seems to be criticized for apparent cronyism;
- and most recently, had $150,000 spent on her wardrobe for 2 months.

These alone indicate that she is far removed from main street and is certainly more like a typical politician.

I am just returning home from a Democratic Rally that was held in my hometown in Pa. The Steelers owner Dan Rooney along with Franco Harris the running back from the 70's Superbowl teams and Robin Cole one of the Steel Curtain Linebackers all gave phenominal speeches for Barack Obama.

We all have Black and Gold Steeler Jerseys that said Obama 08 .

There were over 500 people attending the event. This is a heavy Republican area of the State. But I talked with the head of the Democratic Party in the State and he said they talked to over 290 people going door to door in another part of Pa and all but one said they are voting Obama. Eight Republicans said they are voting Obama.

It was a wonderful uplifting night.

At this stage it really does not matter what Governor Palin says. She has no credibility. The talking heads who predict she will be a rising star in the GOP assumes the party will not learn anything from what looks to be a major nation wide defeat in November.

The Party needs to rebuild and rebrand itself, be more of an all inclusive political force or risk being totally irrelevant for a decade.

My sense is Governor Palin will be challenged in a Primary for Governor and lose.

The lesson is that acting with charm and a wink and nod may work in a bar for drinks, but on the national stage the electorate is not that easily seduced for votes.
