McCain's speech and it made me very angry -- he went on and on about Barack the Redistributor. If Sen. McCain does win the election, his administration can do without my federal tax dollars -- why not just keep it to better my own situation, pave my own street and lavish money on our children's school? Why not get a bigger, better ambulance for my town instead of worrying about other places? Of course the answer is that it IS fair for us to pay federal taxes and for those taxes to provide things FAIRLY to the American people. Some of the things that Sen. McCain derides as "earmarks" are actually grants that pay for salaries for pure research -- the public at large (and Sen. McCain) may not know ahead of time what areas of research turn out to be most beneficial, and private research money often has a limited field of interest. So those pesky earmarks are in fact a necessary part of developing new avenues of research in a number of areas. Sen. McCain wants to freeze spending on all but "necessary" items like defense -- if we have to cut spending, it has to include defense, which is a whopping and wasteful part of our budget, and we have to talk realistically about what our "defense" department can and should be doing around the world given our budget limitations. I heard Sen. McCain's entire speech and I never once heard him say just what he would do to grow the economy other than rely on small business owners to do it for him. Well, my final salvo there is that large corporations like Wal-Mart (Sarah Palin's favorite store) have outmuscled all the mom-and-pop small businesses in many parts of this country and people have NO choice about where to buy things. Is Wal-Mart bad? Too greedy? No amount of helping small business owners can right that balance...so what will you do, Sen. McCain?

$150,000 vs. $250,000

Yes. So If "middle class america", those making 37596 to 66354 will receive only 1118 tax savings or 93.17 per month and higher income individuals at 160K to 226K get even a bigger break pf $2796 or 233 per month. Now why does the middle class suffer? The middle class can use $233 more than those earning over $160000. The numbers should be reversed. The higher tax cut to those earning less. So as President his taxes on his Presidential salary only increase $121. This is a bait and switch by the Obama party. He is still serving the higher income people in America and trying to hide it in his eloquent words.

$150,000 vs. $250,000

McCain's campaign constantly taking things out of context, and then exploiting them, truly shows me how desperate their campaign really has become..McCain, you really don't have a plan to unite us do you? As Obama said yesterday in his closing arguments, it doesn't matter how many times McCain says there will be a tax increase with the Obama plan irrespective of income, that doesn't make it truth. McCain is a liar!

If someone making between $226K and $603K gets a tax increase of $121.00 I don't give a da__ if they are upset right now! Afterall, millions of people would love to be in that tax bracket and gladly pay the increase. Only in America has greed so consumed people that they would whine about paying $121.00 more in taxes so that middle class workers might get a little relief.

McCain and that "welfare" line is just a scare tactic and another lie.

The right is so hateful and delusional that they are now blaming Obama for the volatility in the stock market i.e his tax plan discourages people from investing in companies that may have an increased tax burden.
