Again there is no outrage in the media regarding the lack of press access to the VP nominee of the Obama/Biden campaign, unlike the outrage over the lack of access to Sarah Palin. Also, I have no real interest in the video tape showing Obama supporting a Palestinian activist as we know his views. However, why is the LA time sitting on the tape. If the reverse was true, and it was a video that was embarrassing to McCain, does anybody honestly think it would not be plastered over every cables channel? The bias shown by the media towards Obama is becoming embarrassing. It was apparent in the primary but now it has turned into a full-scale propaganda operation that Goebbels would be proud of.

Yeah, she's good-looking (not to mention well-dressed), "skills" that will be extremely handy when she's back in Alaska facing her future ethics hearings. But in the spirit of frequently calling for more information about Obama, I want to know more about her and her husband's ties to the Alaskan secessionist movement--I'll go out on a limb and suggest that it sounds like treason. One day even Alaska will run out of oil-- does it come crawling back then? I don't think Sarah Palin (or those of her ilk) spare much thought for America's future. And I've concluded that the candidate I really don't know enough about is Sarah Palin.

It also seems her memory isn't so good--she's suddenly the anti- "spread the wealth around" poster gal, quickly forgetting how she came in proclaiming how she made Alaskan oil companies do just exactly that, cutting a $1200 check for Alaska's residents. Hmmm...that sounds like...SOCIALISM! Not a tax cut, it's a pretty clear case of spreading the wealth, because "ALASKA's RESOURCES BELONG TO US ALL!"

Meanwhile, if we'd all been cut a check instead of the government bailing out our financial systems, nobody would wonder about how they'll afford to heat their home this winter--if they still have a home to heat.

August 4, 2008, Fairbanks, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin today responded to the energy plan put forward by the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

"I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska's natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs," Governor Palin said. "The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs."

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating, "Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process."

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator's proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

"We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home," Governor Palin said. "This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board."

Obama is right.

We need a team to work together to develop alternate energy sources.

When this country was in a race to be the first to develop the Atmoic Bomb we were successful.

When this country was in a race to land a man on the Moon we did so.

It is time to put together the best minds in the country to work as a team to develop alternate energy sources. Gather them together, give them the funds and a facility for the research required and let tham go at it. No interference from the oil companies. No interfernce from the auto companies. No interference from anyone who would support maintaining oil as the main energy source in this country.

Let them treat this issue as a national emergency just as with the Atomic Bomb and the race for space exploration. Eliminate the haphazard, half-hearted, self-interest efforts being made by the auto industry and oil industry to find alternate energy sources and make it a national priority through the use of this expert driven team.
