It is illegal for the sitting executive to utilize federal agencies to influence an election. That is the real story here, not the decisions made by a half-aunt of Obama that hasn't spoken with him in two years, no its the complicit involvement of the politicized DOJ, INS and McCain/Palin campaign to illegally use a position of power to release information illegally to influence an election.

Thankfully, I believe a majority of Americans see this for the disgusting partisan electioneering it is.

The AP also reports that they couldn't confirm or deny whether or not the McCain campaign or Bush Administration had anything to do with the release of the information. That also suggests to me that the story is suspiciously timed although we may never trace the fingerprints. In the end, though, if that's the best the Republicans have on Obama (and it's not even about Obama), then I don't think it damages him all that much, if at all. Even in the Gallup (likely) poll, which is more conservative than its expanded version, Obama is up by 10 points. That's amazing this close to the election.

Anyone who read 'Dreams of My Father' understands that the man's Kenyan relatives shouldn't be an issue. Why? His grandfather had more than one wife and the 'grandmother' he met in Kenya is actually his step-grandmother, though she raised Obama's father. Sen. Obama only met his father once, when he was 10 yrs old. His father had more than one wife, even had more than one white wife, and he had many children. Obama did travel to Kenya after college to try to find his roots and meet some relatives and found that there were so many people that could claim him that it began to sound ridiculous. I, personally, wouldn't hold him responsible for all his many half-aunts, half-grandparents, or half-sisters/brothers. Just as I won't hold Sen. McCain responsible for the black relatives he has that are descended from his family's days of slave-owning. In truth, Barack had a white Kansan mother and white grandparents. His Kenyan father was absentee, and he was raised with a half-sister. The IMPORTANT family is his own - Michelle and his beloved daughters. He shows us daily the example of family values. Maybe that mixed up childhood and the strange heritage of his father gave him the incentive to prove that he can set a better example. The aunt story is just another chunk thrown up on the wall and it's not gonna stick.

What?? No comment from the McCain team?? Their surrogates will continue to try to milk this story. Obama has addressed the issue, now move on. This is simply another example of those who oppose Obama trying to make you fear him. Of course they'll have no evidence to back up their claims. Oh they may try to point you to a website, claiming that website has the "real story". But what they don't tell you is that the website is run by someone against Obama.
With as many problems our country is having these days, our focus should be on the issues affecting our country, not on nitpicky trivial nonsense. The McCain campaign needs to tell us what a McCain presidency would do to help Americans. The problem is he can't. His programs mostly mirror the programs of the Bush administration.
America is better than that. If you haven't made up your mind, its time. Both campaigns have gone on long enough that if you don't understand their positions, you must have been in a coma or simply haven't been listening to either of them. There is no "smoking gun" story that will change the dynamics of the race.
It will be interesting to see how gracious the losers will be when Obama wins on Tuesday.
