President Bush announced at a joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki earlier this morning that the United States will stay in Iraq for as long as necessary: "this business about a graceful exit simply just has no realism to it at all."

Security politics

The United States had no plausible reason to go into Iraq in the first place and now the country has been catapulted into a Civil War, mostly caused by George W. Bush and his vendetta's. It seems hopeless in the simplest of terms and no one knows where to run. We went in their to overthrow their leader becasue he was a " big threat" to the national security of the United States. He may have been a monster in his own country and talked alot of talk but he was never the threat we were made to believe and ironically enough WE went into their country and basically ruined it for the people their all in the name of democracy. Im sure you cannot speak to any Iraqui citizen and have them tell you their lives are better since the US went in to save them, They have no Infrastructure, no real government, and no future. Its a shame and no one can say differently.

Security politics

Imagine that...Bush talking about realism.

Security politics

Can you say 'President Vilsack'? This is getting totally ridiculous with the President saying "we will stay the course until our mission is complete no matter what the cost in lives or money". The Pentagon and the Generals saying "we will beef it up kick there ass and then draw down but we've got us a conflict(never declared a war)and we would like to see it last at least 5 or 10 more years no matter what the cost in lives or money". The Iraqi's saying "we want the Americans to stay, but out of our the way (we got some ethnic cleansing to do) keep sending us money and soldiers no matter what it cost in lives or money. I've heard so many say you make your choices and your voice known by voting, well I voted and all I'm hearing is the same "Old Sh--". The south Vietnamese were never able to stand up and fight the north. As America pulled out the south's army abandon the battle field like rats fleeing a sinking ship. Same will happen in Iraq, if we do not quell the militias and end secretarial fighting. To me, the very idea of his royal highness actually using his limited ability to legitimately 'think' of a way out of Iraq is hard to stomach. He would have a very hard time 'thinking' how to escape out of a paperbag, let alone solving the complex mess he got us and the poor Iraqis' into. AMMAN, Jordan - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said Thursday that his country's forces would be able to assume security command by June 2007.

That does mean Iraq will be ready to assume the SECURITY RESPONSIBLITY for the country by
June 2007? He is saying he wants ALL of the IRAQ SECURITY FORCES turned over to HIS CONTROL
by June 2007. Currently the US controls all but one or two of the Iraqi Security Force Brigades.
Get the translation correct! He said nothing about US Troops leaving.
