McCain is a hero, he ran a valiant fight and should have won, and probably would have if he had had just a few things in his favor. The press was biased, spending much more time and money following his opponent. The money, of course, was another issue, and this should be on the list of things that need to change. If one does not take only public funding, he or she needs to account for every dime. We do not know where all the money Obama got came from and this is something that needs to be corrected. I have never seen so many attempts at voter fraud and if the Republicans tried to do something about it, they came out looking like the bad guy. Then of course, there was the economic mess the congress and some thieves on Wall Street created. Then for some reason a large number of the soldiers overseas did not get to vote, through no fault of their own. President Bush took the flack he did not deserve and what was done to Sarah Palin was just shameful. She is a beautiful and talented woman with a wonderful political future, and just because her experience was not with Congress... does Congress really prepare one for the Presidency? I think NOT. No, things did not swing in McCain's favor but with all the odds, he ran a close race. And he is the honorable man of the two. Now we will have a president who did not like us very much before we recently "restored his faith in us." One who will allow us to be scrutinized if we ask any questions he does not like. A first lady who was finally proud of America just this year. Well, I voted for Obama but I want to say that over the years there were many times that McCain led many drives and refused to work with Republican programs. I'm 55 and my son spent two tours of active duty in Iraq including the big Falujah battle. He lost Marine buddies, he went into Mosques during that battle that the US had so graciously agreed not to go into. He and the Marines found that many of the mosque towers were literally stacked to the top with every type of war weapon imaginable. Marines would have to hide the best they could at night prior to that while "religious mullahs" would welcome Al-queda to enter, get weapons, setup and shoot from the towers by killing young America boys in the head, legs or wherever. They had perfect locations.
For months, I remember the press saying that "Fallujah was impossible to take back" that "it was a lost cause". You might remember the photos of "The Marboro Man" taken by a "LA Times" photographer. That photographer was assigned to my son and he held on to him for dear life. They were in a room during the battle and were feeling
the results of a missle hitting a few yards away when he took that picture. So why am I telling this?
Simply because the rest of the story is that WE TOOK FALLUJAH BACK in 3-4 days. The press beat our men down with their stories and my son came back with photos of the many of the general populace who lost everything including husbands, children, wives, homes...everything. But, I saw photos of these boys turned to men coming back after seeing the horrors of war and Iraq women and older children running with washcloths to tend to these Marines. To help them. I'll bet you never saw any of those pictures EVER IN THE PRESS DID YOU?
I just hope that Obama knows that Iraq is sitting in the middle of all future problems and that we can't abandon the people. McCain understands this, yet I voted for Obama because for some reason I don't believe that he is going to listen to the biggest idiot on the hill, Harry Reid.
I believe that Obama is a "man's man" and that he recognizes the significance of how things can turn on a dime. Talk all you want about the Taliban but back up Iraq and let him call in the millions of dollars that Bush was supposed to receive for our help. They have a unbelievable surplus and we've financed it. Pelosi/Reid/& Franks are not a team they are a "scream". They've been working the same game for a long time, which was to get political control. They haven't done anything in the last 2.5 years even when Pelosi said they would. Well, now they have it all. Except for one BIG THING I believe that Obama is not going to just let them go through with all of their ideas because frankly many of them are simply insane.
By the way, my Marine son voted for Obama also so this is a vote of faith that the man is really not as much a "party line man" as his democrats think he is. As a matter of fact, he could not have won this election without a lot of Republicans (including myself and many of my friends) voting for him too.

Please, after 8 years of blaming Bush for almost everything that has happened, I really hope that American can go back to becoming a country that understands that POLITICS has many behind the scenes people that cause or influence the decisions, popular or unpopular that eventually create our problems. Let's quit putting it all on one person. Damn, if I want to hear people yelling "this is all Obama's fault" down the road at some point...
It's time for a new start. The dems have got the reins, I'm not upset at all for the simple reason that THE MAN THAT I ANTICIPATE TO BE PRESIDENT IS NOT GOING TO BE MANIPULATED INTO DOING THE WRONG THINGS...I don't think that we could be in better hands at this time in history.
God Bless America, our armed forces, the lives of our brave solders who gave so selflessly, and to all that can remove the hate and vile spit that they utter during their conversations when they point at a particular figure because they're so sure they're right... Get over it. It's time to get civil.

Now I hope all who still hold a fear or a hate will research and open their eyes. Remember too that with the way our system of government is set up no one person red or blue can do everything he wants to do w/o a voting majority. Keep as close an eye on the rest of the elected officials too!
