I hope Al Franken wins. He embodies the American spirit. I feel a great kinship with him and he represents everything I stand for. Obama winning was nice, but a Franken win would be icing on the cake.

If Stevens wins the election, the Senate should immediately begin the procedure to expell him. His continued presence in the Senate would be a blemish on Congress. He broke the public trust and betrayed his constituents and the rest of the country he was elected to serve. Mitch McConnell barely survived this election and as the Minority Leader he needs to step up to the plate and do the right thing if he wants to begin to restore the Republican Party's image.

You can bet AK Republicans voted for Stevens as a Republican slot, NOT for Stevens per se. Stevens will likely get expunged from the Senate after his appeal (not before as Obama doesnt want to see that as partisan ugliness, though that would not be the reason, it would be a perception). An elections means a Republican seat for sure. Surprising AK doesn;t allow Palin to just appoint.

Not violent or sexual in nature and I can't even get a job at WalMart but this clownshoe can win an election and retain a seat in the U.S. senate and I cant even vote. What a system!!!!P.S. Ted Stevens is a great American. Anyone who watched that Crazy juror or paid attention to the disgraceful actions of the prosecution knows the man is innocent of the charges. However, guilty or innocent Alaska has the right to decide who represents them in the U S SENATE. I have allready emailed and informed my Senators that I will not vote for them or support them if they STEAL Alaskans right to choose there Senator from them.

ALASKA has spoken, and they have done the right thing by this great champion of people. I am proud of Alaska for the decision to stand by this Great American Patriot.

After watching the actions of Sarah Palin and her family during this election it makes me wonder if everyone in Alaska is just plain weird. Maybe Todd will get Alaska to succede and we won't have to worry about the crazy things they do up there. Sarah Palin alone made me know I will never vacation in Alaska.

I doubt that Stevens will win an appeal. If he were smart he would resign and get Bush to issue him a pardon on his way out of office. Even I don't want to see this old man who has served the country for so long in the Senate in jail. Not over lying about 250k of freebies. A disgraceful exit from the Senate should be punishment enough. But he is dreaming if his claims of being blissfully ignorant of the freebies (even if it were true) should mean he gets to stay in the Senate. Because if you didn't notice 250k of stuff lying around your house, than you are no longer sharp enough to serve in the Senate.

I sure am proud of Alaska. I am also convinced that given all the crazy behavior of the Jurors and the detestible, dishonest , disgraceful antics of the prosecution that this case will be overturned on appeal. The man was railroaded.

as for the work on the house the man paid $160,000 dollars in bills on the house. Bill Allen was his close friend that had access to this second home 5000miles away from where this 84 year old man lives most of the time. Stevens used the house less than 20 days a year.

They hid evidence from the jury that was exonerating, they had another lawyer in the stands coaching there elderly allready convicted star witness, they sent one witness home rather than let the defence have access to him, when the judge got on them there excuse for all this dispicibal behavior was "We apologize we don't know how it happened. I forgot they hid a evidence from the defence so they could spring it on them at the last second in front of the jury. It just goes on and on and on. They had to win, they had to destroy him because this was there crown jewel case. It is a DISGRACE what has happened to Ted Stevens an absolute disgrace and I would sa the same if he were a democrat. The lawyers that prosecuted are in the same bush league with those that went after the Duke rape case.

As for Sarah Palin and my own Senator Jim Demint, they were carrying water for McCain who hates Ted Stevens. She was as tepid with that call as she could get away with.

Thank God for the citizens of Alaska who voted for Juustice in this case.
