On Joe Lieberman. If memory serves me right and I apologize if this has already been brought up, but didn’t Senator Obama go up to Connecticut in 2006 to campaign FOR Senator Lieberman when Lieberman asked him to?

If this is correct and I believe it is, then Senator Obama owes Senator Lieberman nothing for the way he conducted himself during the presidential campaign this year.

As you can imagine, it’s going to be a thrilling day on January 20, 2009. I have read reports that upwards of 5 million people are expected to make the trek to DC. I hope you all think about it. I couldn’t get hotel reservations, so I decided to bring my granddaughters just for the day, hoping at least they’ll get a chance to see President Obama as he passes by in the parade. We won’t be able to get near the Capitol grounds for the swearing in unfortunately.

But it is going to be a historic day and it’s only about a 90 minute flight down there so we’re going for it. We’ll get in @ 8:30 AM and leaving @ 9 PM. I just want to give them a memory they can take with them for the rest of their lives.

I hope anyone who is within distance of DC doesn’t get turned off by the crowds or lack of hotels. Just going for the day and enjoying the atmosphere may be enough (provided it isn’t too cold).

It’s a once in a lifetime moment. Especially for the children. It is afterall their future that is at stake.

For a man that won the presidency on symbolism, the fact that he's now going to send his children to private schools says a lot about him. Here is man that has fought and protected the public school system, given paybacks to the teachers unions, but when it's time for him to show he personally supports the schools, Obama cuts and runs. And for good reason. The public schools in this country are the very defintion of a monopoly. Poor results, lousy staff, worn out buildings, and in many places just plain dangerous to enter. But, these schools are good enough for the common families, but not even close to good enough for the symbolic President.

PALIN'S PROBLEM

Sarah Palin's problem is that she never admits that anything was her fault. It is always someone else. I know I makes lots of mistakes - and sometimes I admit them. I bet she makes mistakes too. However, to hear her tell it - everyone else is wrong, not her.

It does not serve her well to never admit to an error. American does not truth that kind of leader.

For example, if she had just come out and did a Ronald Reagan on the Troopergate mess, it would have gone away. She could have said, "You know, I never intended to step over the line regarding Trooper Wooten in an effort to protect my family, but others who have looked at the facts have said otherwise. While I can not see it, the others must be right and I apologized to the citizens of Alaska."

Unless she learns who to admit mistakes, she will not go far in politics.

According to the latest numbers, 24% give Bush a favorable job rating, and 16% think the US is in great shape. Did you ever wonder who those people were? I have been quite puzzled about them. We have just endured eight years of catastrophic incompetance, and yet there are pinheads out there who believe everything is just fine. I don't know a single person who would even give Bush a D- rating, yet alone say he was doing a "heck of a job" for us.

Those Bush fans are not hiding. They are actual breathing residents of the US. I found them--all of them! They have the right to vote, have a driver's license, and are permitted to reproduce more of the same. They didn't just surface, they've been under our noses all along.

Fox News hosts an internet message board similar to this; and for pure comedy, please visit and read some of the postings. By some, I mean that anyone with an IQ above a petunia won't get past three or four. While hilarious in substance, they are also scary in the ignorance (not just grammar and spelling) displayed by the responders.

So my mystery has been solved.

The 24% who think Bush is a world-class leader, and the 16% who think everything is great, are a blend of right wing religious nut cakes, Dick Cheney's corporate pals, and assorted low (very low) information voters. And "you betcha" they think Sarah Palin is not only intelligent, honest, and well informed! (At least she--and here kin-folk--are now well-dressed thanks to the RNC's stupdiity in squandering tax payer funding. But shucks, Jethro is a sight to see in Armani.)

I would think that any reasonable parent would make the best choice possible for their daughters, and to make that into any kind of issue is ridiculous. One of the considerations will have to be the ability of a school to accept the protections that the Secret Service provides. The school with the most experience doing that is Sidwell Friends.

Based on the media coverage after the election, one would thing that President Elect Obama was running against Sarah Palin instead of John McCain.

It is a shame that Senator John McCain allowed himself to become a footnote in his own campaign. It is hard to interpret his silence after the election. What must he feel about the way the party he has served all these years has not only turned its back on him, but also on many of the things he has fought for much of his life?

I did not want John McCain to be President of the United States. But somehow, it seems like he deserves just a little more respect than he is now receiving, especially from Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin has yet in any opportunity in front of the cameras, & she is making sure she has alot of camera time, congratulated President-elect Barack Obama. She is a cad. On the Today Show interview you can see just how slick this woman is. She answers questions not by answering them, but by stating the closest thing to the truth that will suffice & Matt Lauer let her get away with it..more than once!

The most telling and heartbreaking piece of the interview though was with sweet little Piper. When Matt Lauer asked, Piper expressed how hard it had been to miss so much school, and that it was very difficult to catch up. When he asked Piper if she would want to campaign again, she hesitated, until Mama Shark jumped in and asked her if it had been fun on the campaign trail SISTER, and Piper then couldn't answer yes fast enough. This poor child is being used & manipulated by this horrible woman. Is SISTER code for you better agree with me or else?

Last Friday Palin stated that she had no clothes from the campaign home with her...yet today she told Matt Lauer she spent the weekend filling up boxes (plural) to be sent back. Which is it? Did she only admit this because her father let it slip in an interview that that is what she was doing over the weekend? She lies just to lie. And she truly believes the rest of us are too stupid to realize it.

Regarding school for the girls...

I would love to see them go to one of the nearby public schools, but let's face it - security is probably going to be a HUGE issue. So I can't blame Barack & Michelle for looking into the private schools that are smaller, where there are a lot of other kids who could be considered to have their safety at risk because of whose children they are, etc. Their safety must come first. It is an unfortunate sign of the times that so many people exhibited "verbal terrorism" at some of the rallies. As a mother, if I was Michelle, I would be a little afraid for my kids. I would hope that the better angels of people would prevail, but in the back of your mind you always know it only takes one nut... There are many of us who are thrilled that Barack won the election, but there are many who still live in the prejudice of the past... If it was my family in this situation, I can't even say I would investigate any schools - I might opt for home schooling and private tutors, but that wouldn't let my kids have as "normal" a life as they could have under the circumstances. My son did great in public schools in south Florida, because he had involved parents (which the Obamas are). He's a veterinarian now, so he did OK. But obviously we didn't have the safety concerns that the Obamas have now. So I don't think we can find fault with them for checking out the private schools, rather than the public schools.

Governor Palin will become Senator Palin once the GOP Senators kick out Stevens. This will allow Palin to enhance her resume.

She knows the Alaskan Governor is a terrible political seat now that oil has fallen almost $100 a barrel. That drop will force the state to drop Palin's $3300 per Alaskan taxpayer oil profit tax. Every past Alaskan Governor has said, it's easy to govern Alaska when oil is high. As soon as it drops, that's the end of your political career.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright; An American Hero!

Now that the election is over, I can finally put forward my theory that Reverend Jeremiah Wright fell on his sword for the now President-Elect Barack Obama.

Think about it, when the first tape came out, there was nothing that Reverend Wright could do about it, and even though Obama addressed the tape in his now famous "Race in America" speech, without ever having denouced Reverend Wright (which Barack at that time would never have done out of loyalty)that tape would have followed him all the way to November 4th, and would probably have cost him the election. So what does a former Marine like Reverend Wright do, He deliberately comes out with that ridiculously offensive clown-like act interview with the national press, and thereby gave Barack the opportunity to denouce him, (which Obama does) and thereby takes the Reverend Wright saga off the table and out of the race forever.

Reverend Wright jumped on a hand-grenade for Barack. Notice, that after that last interview, we never heard from Reverend Wright again. He sacraficed himself, for the good of Obama, and for the good of the country. And I think he did it without consulting Obama.

Thank you Reverend Wright for your sacrafice. I for one saw what you did, and God bless you.

If anyone saw some of the crazed bigots headed to her rallies, you saw what most Americans rejected. No wonder the GOP's run was an abject failure. That was one of ugliest, lying, interview’s I have ever seen. Yes Sarah, the door is open; so don’t let it hit you on the way out. Go back to Alaska and continue your ugly faux pas politics.

If Sarah thinks she can be the next face of America, not to mention governor, or senator she is dumber than Joe the plumber.

At least Joe the plumber has several jobs lined up.

I don’t even believe she can really cook. Image being all dolled up to prepare a meal; as being interviewed by Greta; what a phony. Certainly, she didn’t look comfortable multi-tasking and lying.

It turns out the conservative political magazines pundits Bill Kristol, Michael Gerson, and Fred Barnes smitten by her, especially Bill Kristol, think she is an unusual dish (believe me; she is; pun intended). I guess so does Greta does too since Greta seems so enamored by her.

But that slob, Dick Morris, the disgraced aide to President Clinton, though usually with the Republicans, thinks otherwise. “Dick Morris sort of pulled her aside for a private conversation, which she then revealed later to the group, in which he said, "If you want to be successful politically, you've got to continue to hold onto your image as an outsider. Play up that outsider thing."
And obviously, she has. But it's just so interesting to hear that really it's a calculated strategy. It's not just because she is an outsider; it's a ploy, to some extent.”

The woman still doesn't get it . She still refuses to answer the question but turns the answer to suit her own interest. When is a reporter going to have the nerve to say to her outloud, " You didn't answer the question " ? The whole exchange between Matt Lauer and her was a perfect example of what she has perfected. Why, when she said that the RNC supplied 8 members of her family didn't Matt ask if she didn't see anything wrong with this ? And Meredith Vierra has the nerve to say " how candid " Palin is. Get real Meredith . Stick to the baking segments of the show . And somehow or other doesn't hanging around in the kitchen with " family " demean Lauer as a reporter ? Folksy is as folksy does . I just lost my breakfast !

Palin has no need to be outthere talking about mcCain this Mcain that, they lost and thats it. God spoke and Obama is the new President. Time for her to go back to Alaska and study world history. Fox News hosts an internet message board similar to this; and for pure comedy, please visit and read some of the postings. By some, I mean that anyone with an IQ above a petunia won't get past three or four. While hilarious in substance, they are also scary in the ignorance (not just grammar and spelling) displayed by the responders.

I know this is a stretch but has it ever ocurred to you that those two kids are no longer ABLE TO BE KEPT SAFE in a public school because of those very people who are unhappy that a black man was elected president.
Do you have any idea how disruptive it would be to the entire public school to have those two little girls attending everyday. Would you send your kids to anything but a private school if you knew there were people out there who hated you being president because of your color, and knowing, they would do anything to make it not so?
