I truly feel sorry for Palin. Let me make it perfectly clear that I do not think or feel that she is qualified or ready to be vice president and, heaven forbid, president any time soon.

McCain frequently made reference to "Miss Congeniality." I believe he used Palin as a sex symbol for his campaign. One thing that she did do: she raised the excitement of and energized the Republican party, probably in more ways than one.

It hurts me to say this, but, with her ineptitude, she came across as a bimbo. If there is any truth to the reports about the McCain staff's treatment and opionion of her, McCain 'used' her. What's even sadder, she allowed it. Unforutnately, she realized it too late.

It does seem like Palin did have a wake-up call or a reality check about how she was used during the Republican campaign. She's now trying to redeem herself. She was politically abused and taken advantage of. She's reacting now to her abuse. It must hurt bad, and it ought to.

If she does have "visions of sugar plums" about any major role for the future, she should step back to allow herself to heal emotionally and spiritually. She would do herself and the Republican party well to think and pray through a re-entry strategy and then go for the gold.

Also, for the record, I did not vote Republican.
