Chuck Todd gave some excellent insight into the Hillary pick last night on Countdown and this morning. I too wonder why Hillary would want the Secretary of State position as Todd pointed out that that would kind of stop her from raising money and campaigning for 2016. Also surprised that Bill Clinton would want his public foundation clipped financially as he'll now be under a big microscope for his fundraising. Still she'd make a great Secretary of State, so much better than the clueless prissy poser we now have screwing our diplomacy up.

David Broder obviously does not know Obama. Broder (in his criticism of Hillary) states that Obama does not need a Secretary of State who will be telling him how to view the world or how to manage foreign policy. What Broder does not understand is that Obama intends to be in control and that his Secretary of State will be expected to carry out his views and decisions regarding the world stage. There will be no doubts whatsoever about that. Hillary knows this and if she can live with it then let her take on the role. If she knows she can't live with it then she will turn the job down. Simple as that.

What everyone is missing, I think, is that another Big Dog stepped into the Senate chamber yesterday and that is the old Lion, Ted Kennedy. .

He first spanked Hillary by not letting her get away with claiming the Health Issue as her own, but instead said that he would get the Health bill passed himself.

Then, after HER people made sure that the SoS was leaked and whispered to the press, Kennedy again has stepped in to squash her chances of being SoS by putting her on HIS committee, therefore taking THE SoS off the table for Obama. He is covering Obama's back on this. You now see Hillary not quite sure she wants the job after all !! Interesting isn't it?

Teddy probably has just one more thing to get done before he goes and he is going to pass a Health bill come hell or high water. That will be his legacy forever and he will not let Hillary and Bill mess with Obama.

So, that, boys and girls, is where Hillary is going. Back to the senate working for Uncle Ted.

The press needs to let go of the Hill/Bill story and the Clinton drama, Part: 123456789...10 and beyond.

Since Holder is now going to be the U.S Attorney General. Hillary should stay in the Senate, and work with Kennedy on health care. The GOP/RNC will need to be put in their place, and McCain is going to need little mental reminders. I hope Holder has completely understood what a foolish mistake it was to pardon Rich. I really hope that Holder will hold-up the law, and enforce it fairly. Obama is taking a big risk here, and I hope it pays off for our nation to move forward. That is fact!

I have a lot of respect for Hillary Clinton. Obama was definitely my preference for Dem candidate, but I could have voted for Hillary without question. In terms of her being Sec of State, I wonder if that is best utilizing her skills. She would make a great Majority Leader and could contintue her political career. She would also be excellent on the Cabinet on some of our domestic issues especially health care. There would be no one stronger than Hillary in addressing the problems with our health care system. I would hate to lose her abilities and passion on that serious issue.

There are other candidates that would do a good job as Sec of State, but no one could compete with Hillary as Health Sec.

Regarding the comment about rewarding Kerry for his loyalty, I think it time to put aside the good ol' boy rewarding system. Obama is about bringing in the best and brightest. If Kerry is best for Sec of State, then that's great. But I hate to think Obama would consider giving someone this important position as a reward.

I think Holder sounds like a great AG. The fact that he's been in the justice department, he's been a prosecutor, he brings experience and knowledge. We need someone to clean up the department. I do hope he chills a bit on filling prisons with minor marijuana offenders, but I think he'd have lots of other more critical issues to address.

It sounds like he was the fall guy regarding the Rich pardon. It's seldom that the guys at the top take any of the blame when it was them that had the power.

The very fact that Obama is considering Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State makes my blood boil. I supported him from the very beginning, both with donations and volunteered time on his campaign. I did not want Hillary anywhere near the White House ever again. How quickly people forget the lies she told during the campaign and the dirt she threw at Obama that helped the McCain campaign. I am hoping she turns the nomination down, if it has indeed been offered to her. I am a 61-year-old, white, college-educated woman and I would like to see a female succeed - just not this particular female. Hillary Clinton cannot be trusted.

Using tested & seasoned, INTELLIGENT and savvy folks to implement the change that prez elect Obama envisions for the people/nation, is a message that I approve of. The man's principle gift is "leadership" (a spiritual priciple by the way). A good leader has what it takes to lead people, regardless of their individual personalities and demeanors, towards successfully accomplishiong stated goals. In each of my managerial experiences, I welcomed dissenting opinions. My primary criteria was that what was brought to the table should be objective and beneficial towards accomplishing all departmental, divisional and company goals. The day a group of people assemble who are so like minded that no true exchange of ideas come forth, is the day that mediocrity or even worse, inadequacy will be all we can expect as an outcome. We've witnessed this for the past 8 years.

I applaud the individual who is secure enough, humble enough & modest enough to welcome the opinions of others, and even more importantly, to acknowledge and value the opinions of others. It's a mighty egocentric leader who shuns valuable input simply because of who the person is, what their party affiliation is, etc.
