They need to stick to their philosophy of change, and reverse the disasters of the last 8 years. It is not polls that decide elections. It is the people who get out to vote for policies, and people they believe in. The politicians in Washington need to keep their country first, and their party second. If they confuse this order of priorities. Then they will be politically lost, and will not win the confidence/vote of the American People. That is fact!

DCCC chair sizes up 2010

Van Hollen is right on target. Good moves by the House and Senate could over shadow the debacle of having a Clinton in the administration.
"Then they will be politically lost, and will not win the confidence/vote of the American People. That is fact! "
With Obama filling the place with lobbyists and Clinton's the House and Senate are under a lot of pressure to get away from business as usuall and back to "change". Change and Clinton are not synonyms.

DCCC chair sizes up 2010

If this congress is able to end the gridlock and get the important things done (for a change), it will be considered "successful" by the American people, and we might not see a change in the majority (or at least diminished numbers of the Dems) in 2010. But in the end, the American people don't care who's "in charge," as long as the important stuff is getting done.

DCCC chair sizes up 2010

Healthcare for children is great, but if mom and pop go broke because they have none are the children really gaining much?

DCCC chair sizes up 2010

I hope others step up to donate to the DCCC and DSCC, because I for one have no desire to do so. The Democrats in the Senate voted overwhelmingly to spare Lieberman any consequences for their actions. I'm sick! I'll donate locally, and to individual Democrats, but the DCCC and DSCC are wasting their time trying to get me to donate anymore. I'm done!

DCCC chair sizes up 2010

Time for the Democrats to face a few facts. They won an election this year by running a charismatic, empty record, empty headed candidate, covered up the fact that he is as far to the political left as anyone can be, pounded the "Change" mantra, blamed every trouble they could find on Bush, and had a very cooperative liberal media in their corner. That won't work again next time. Obama will be plenty "dirtied up" next time, he's already given up on any Change by appointing old school Democrats to his administration, and while Bush was the kickee this time around, Obama will be the kickee next time around. There is a good chance the Republicans take the House in 2010 and will make up a lot of ground in the Senate.
