"Huckster" Huckabee and Common Sense are mutually exclusive concepts. This religious tyrant would destroy our Constitution by dumbing it down to false biblical substandards, thus destroying our secular democracy. A book for small minded people that deserves to be burned rather than read.

Hey "Liberalism is a disease" - "Tyrant" Bush never bothered to practice what he preached as far as bipartisanship. It was all his way or the highway and we've seen how incompetent his way was. Conservatism is the Disease that has wrecked our secular democracy and economy. Obama is not our Messiah, that's just demeaning conservative garbage. He is however far more brilliant than any repugnant one you kowtow to.

Richard - That short post you responded to wasn't my post though someone used my name for it. I agree with you that there's no big rush to appoint the Treasury Secretary as it's most important to get that posting correct. I favor one of the "Freakanomic" guys like Goolsby. I definitely don't want any more Wall Street criminals like Paulson giving his Wall Street cronies even more breaks than they already have gotten from the current goofball.

Now this is a joke America! The GOP?RNC has not done the right thing for 8 years. The individuals that really have no clue what this means are as follows. "Puppet Palin," "Insane McCain," "Darth Rove," "Backwards Bush," "Chump Change Cheney," and "Stealing Stevens." The list goes on, and on in the "raunchy ranks" of the GOP/RNC. As for books, I'm looking forward to buying & reading Jonathan Alter's book - First 100 Days of FDR. I'm picking it up this weekend. Also, Richard Wolffe's and Chuck Todd's books on the election should be terrific when they're written & released.

Huckabee? I'll pass. Wasn't it he who said something the other day about because gays didn't get their skulls bashed in, that it shouldn't be considered civil rights that they're aiming for?

Really out to lunch, this Huckabee.

I miss seeing John Dean on tv. He played such a vital role in bringing to light all the sins of the Bush Administration. I don't think he's been on since the election. I met him at a bookstore here in Boston and had a nice talk with him. A really lovely man.

Huckabee has more sense than most republicans. He also has some awareness of how people on Main street live. Those are good qualities to have as a politician. Unfortunately most republicans are more into money, power, tearing down their opponent, assuming that Joe the plumber will vote for them, even when it is not in the plumber's best economic interest to vote Republican.

The best unsolicited advise I could give Huckabee is run as fast as you can away from Fox, put your Christianity in your back pocket,and don't plan on running in 2012 as Obama will beat you...badly. Give that honor to silly Sarah so she can fail...again.

Huckabee is a very interesting character. I feel he has much the same appeal as Obama - the integrity, the genuineness, the appeal to the ordinary person. I may even read his book. Is there any chance he would be an Eisenhower republican? That might get back the republican vote.

Romney, on the other hand, in spite of having shown some interesting stripes as a governor with his universal health care system in Massachusetts, strikes me as being a more of a panderer than a pragmatist.

Andrea Mitchell talking to Carly Fiorina about Huckabee and the auto bailout is nonsense. Wasn't she dismissed from McCains campaign? She trashed HP, fired a lot of people, and walked away a multi-millionaire. Now she is trying to show compassion for the workers in Detroit? She almost choked when she said "right now Barack Obama is our President". Please talk to people who have some credibility.

Huckabee seems like a decent politician
I know I wouldn't vote for him, but he seems like a good guy

I also admired Ron Paul's foreign policy
His views on Foreign Policy were better than Obama's

There's a little good in everything, even (gasp) the Republican Party

I still believe with the Implosion of the Economy around September 15th, at the very height of the Presidential Campaign, this race would have been a much tighter race with Mitt Romney in it. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. The GOP gambled that an Old Maverick could beat a younger, more vibrant Change Candidate, and they lost. Romney, flip flop or not, looked the part, carried himself well, and whether you agree with him or not, he was better versed on the Economy.

Huckabee has a great show on Fox. Even has liberals of all kinds on. Huck's easy to get along with and gets along with everybody. Not bad on the bass guitar either. Olbermann could learn from Mike Huckabee. Rachel Maddow too.

That's a good point. Even though Fox News gets trashed a lot, on all of their shows they are least willing to present both viewpoints. I've seen plenty of guests on Oreilly that he disagrees with, but at least he will give them an audience. The trouble with Olbermann and Maddow's shows is they only bring people on that agree with them, and they refuse to entertain any other lines of thought than 'democrats good, republicans bad.' Even if you agree with that, it's hardly news.
