New ideas take young individuals to move our nation forward. I do not want the halls of Capitol Hill smelling like moth balls, and prunes anymore. Watching elderly individuals, with outdated ideas, waddling down the halls of Capitol Hill, is just disturbing. If the Capitol Hill cafeteria starts using plastic spoons, and it is only serving "jello at noon." Then we know it is time to move forward America!

Democracy is cuumbersome and sluggish, but it is still the best system of government. Let's hope that the trend toward meaningful change continues. We need more in congress to step up and do the people's business, not feather their own nests!

We all need to get behind the new administration and do what we are asked to do. Shared sacrefice is the mantra for '09. We can save the shopping sprees til we are more solvent!

A tranfusion of new legislators assures that the Senate and House don't become stale and stagnate. Those that have served the American people for years should be commended; however, there comes a time when they should retire with grace, enjoy their golden years, and put their faith in the hands of the junior legislators whose ideas and insights are like a breath of fresh air.

As for the sinking auto industry, there is plenty of blame to go around, although the buck stops at the top of the ladder in the laps of the antiquated philosophies and general business practices of the CEO's. Who is actually to blame is water over the bridge; what really counts now is keeping the wheels of the auto industry rolling, patching the potholes, and putting the roadblocks aside in order to assure that the USA does not fall into an even deeper pit due to the loss of millions of auto and feeder industry jobs. If we can bail out the "white collar suits & ties" on Wall Street, along with squandering tillions of dollars on a unjustifiable/preempted war in Irag and the rebuilding of this foreign country, than we can sure focus on helping our economy recover by assisting the auto industry in regaining solvency through some sort of bridge loan to tide them over while they come up with a new plan of action.

People know things are getting "old" on Capitol Hill. When there is a special parking lot for wheel chairs, and walkers. When the Capitol needs to add more ramps, and all of the food in the Capitol's cafeteria needs to be boiled. When a person starts hearing elderly representatives yelling such things as. "Where are my denture!" Who stole my 1900's World's Fair Spoon!" "Did Stevens steal my wallet again!" Then America we know it is time to move on!

Actually, I would throw all the baby boomers into the same group as Stevens and Dingell. They all need to go. Certainly, boomers have shown the same self-indulgant narcissistic tendancies as those who have held on for so long. Collectively they think of themselves as 15 years younger than they really are. Sorry pals, your bodies are sagging and your minds lagging. It aint pretty, your old. Its time to get that pine box adjacent to your bed, step in and die...soon please.
