I simply cannot be more impressed with the way the PE Obama is handling this entire selection process. He truly is bringing in the best and the brightest. He has no problem with party lines or if they worked for Clinton or Bush Sr. He is gathering information, opinions, even advice and making sure that he gets this right. It takes a very confident person to be willing to listen to others - even those you may not agree with. Look at Bush. He locked himself away and made bad decisions based on what we'll never know.

PE Obama is giving us every confidence that he will make the right choices. Absolutely an amazing man.

I like Susan Rice; I first thought President Elect Obama would select her for SoS; after seeing her on talk shows. She’s smart and articulate; furthermore, she’s not related to Condi Rice or share Condi Rice’s views.
Whether or not Hillary becomes SoS; still remains to be seen. One thing for sure, No Drama President Elect Obama certainly has quite a drama going on now with the Clintons. Folks, they’re the King and Queen of Drama. Relax; Enjoy the show, whatever she gets/accepts it will be significant. After all, she deserves something significant she got 18+ million votes; despite that she ran a horrendous, defunct, campaign.

This is a very wise choice on Obama's part. I'm guessing Scowcroft probably doesn't want to do the National Security Adviser thing again, especially when one takes his age into account, but I'd love to see him do it again. He's one of the high priests of the realist foreign policy school of thought, which seems to match up with Obama's own point of view. And God knows, we need a realist foreign and defense policy right now - one under which the U.S. picks and chooses its fights, and in the meantime, works to balance burgeoning powers like Russia, China, and India.

We cannot have it both ways, America. We are in deep, deep trouble in almost every aspect of governance both nationally and internationally. We -twice to my astonishment - turned our executive branch over to a trained monkey surrounded by an incompetent, greedy, goon squad that has left the presidency as a trashed out crack house for the rich and powerful. We cannot turn it over to a crew of inexperienced, however well intentioned, rookies simply because Obama promised change. Obama is a brilliant leader who will not be pushed around by political toadies like Bush is. He will operate with a firm hand and consistent vision. Let the Fixed News crowd crow and mock about how this is four more years of Clinton. It won't be. But we are spinning out of control and it will take some strong, experienced hands on deck to right this ship of state. I certainly think we a have lots to worry about...our country hasn't seen this confluence of horrors anytime in it's history. But Obama is everything Bush wasn't: intelligent, creative, clever, responsible, and aware of the implications of the promises he's made. I'll worry just like you will, but not about Barack Obama's promise to bring change to the White House. I worry that everything is so SNAFU'ed that he will spend four years putting our fires and never get a chance to be the president we elected him to be. If that happens, it will be our fault for electing the worst president in history, and thinking he hadn't made enough mistakes and abused enough privilege, we elected him again, thanks to the empty headed blow torches on the right who have the uncanny ability to terrify millions of people into voting against their own best interests.
