Is Obama gonna name the second level people, just under Gates and Clinton ?

You can't leave the Bush appointees in the second level slots
Presumably, Hillary would name some of her subordinates and Obama names others

Hopefully, Obama will clean out the intelligence agencies
Too many lick-spittles faking intelligence to curry favor with the Republicans Neo-Cons
Too many implacated in torture
You can't leave torturers and their enablers in positions of authority

Will there be a 'Truth Commission' to investigate torture and illegal actions by the Bush Admin ?

I am impressed by the overall pragmatism of Obama's choices but let's hope that this so-called dream team is willing to take a stand on getting the US out of Iraq.

Having watched the press conference on msnbc, I was alarmed that Obama is once again hedging on his commitment to withdraw all US troops from Iraq, an occupation that is costing the nation $10-12 billion a month.

Surely there are large numbers of us who didn't work and vote for Obama to support an on-going occupation to secure the oil resources of that country (i.e., in his language today to "protect our civilians on the ground").

Let's support our troops and bring them home, and leave Iraq and their resources to the Iraqis.

This just proves that the GOP aren't willing to change even for the good of their own party. Rather than see the benefits that different view-points bring to a situation, they'd rather see it as a negative. I guess that's why they prefer an administration that punishes dissent rather than rewards new ideas. This is the kind of politics that America repudiated on November 4th. Sadly, they'll never learn.

Is there any truth to the statement that because of a pay increase to the Sec of State and Hillary being a former elected official who oversaw that pay increase that the constutition bars Her(or any congress-person, who may of had influence on that pay decision) from that posistion ??

With all the comments about Hillary, one should keep an eye on Dr. Susan Rice as Ambassador to the UN. Obama plans to make Ambassador to the UN a cabinet post which is another smart move. Dr. Rice is one smart lady and will serve the country well.

It is facinating that Obama has selected Samantha Power to be part of SoS department. Samantha will keep her eye on Hillary, so Obama has embedded a personal choice in the State Department...Just to keep things honest.
