Thanks to the incompetent administration in the White House the governors have to come to Philly with their hats in hand like a bunch oif common beggars. As usual the repugnant ones screw everything up and then the Demcorats ahve to come in and clean up their mess.

The big three auto makers need to stop making so many pathetic models. I for one will be glad to see the Hummer bite the dust as only the dumbest would ever own one. No ownder the Japanese kick Detroit's butt as they have far better fuel efficiency because they saw the oil shortage problem long ago and made plans to overcome it early on while the auto exces cried to the repugnant ones in power to save them from higher fuel efficiency.

Whatever bailout of the auto industry includes it SHOULD also include that all top executives be fired. Period. Why would you hand over more money to the same people who dragged their feet on making better, economical cars in the past? American-made autos are poorly made (I know, I have one)that import inferior steel from either Mexico or China in order to save a few dollars on making them. We need, new, different thinking people at the top who will deliver a better made product that Americas will be proud to own again and put our people back to work. Whatever happened to Made In America? (Yeah, I know, it moved to China.)I say no bail out for the same idiots that got us here in the first place.

You want to know why this is a sorry excuse for action. I present to you the following quote from Ed Rendell:
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, who is chairman of the National Governors Association, says that for every $1 billion the states get from the federal government, the governors believe they can create 40,000 jobs.

Ok kiddies, get out your calculators. Yep that's right, that's 25000, which is $12.50 an hour which is good wages for Western Penn. but won't be enough in the cities, coincidentally where he himself said most of the work needs to be done on bridges.
That's not all of course, once all that money is distilled through the bureaucracy there will be just enough money to pay those 40,000 people the federal minimum wage.
In other words, HE'S LYING! I'll leave it for the poor schmucks that elected him to decide what to do about it.

CEO of Ford will take a $1 salary IF he gets his handout but what if it doesn't get it? He gets zip, no job. Not to mention, how many people realize that a salary of $1 does not mean that the guy actually receives only $1 for that year. There's other ways to get paid. Oh the insanity.
