I would like to ask the media where were you when Bush was running for office? Where were you when he "picked" his cabinet and White House staff, and when he went in to war in two countries?

Now you all want to know what President-elect Obama is planning, executing, hiring. all of a sudden you are keeping your focus on him. Shame on you!

My what a short memory when things don't exactly meet your approval. The media gave plenty of coverage to the Bush appointees when they were announced. The problem is that Bush, as usual, was very secretive of his selections until the last minute. Obama seems more open and thus easier for the media to speculate and for coverage of his selections. We can't hang on every word or chart each step made by lame duck Bush if for no other reason than he is a lame duck.

Also keep in mind that Bush "won" two very close elections where Obama won by a landslide. That just may have something to do with it too. The people want to hear about their new President and since more are interested this time around the media is obliging us.

I was really hoping that Richardson would have been Sec of State, but this is something. After 2 or 3 years, Hillary Clinton will feel burned out, and Richardson can take over. Where are the other Hispanics/Latinos in the cabinet? They did help Obama get this far.

What other Commerce Secretary has had the kind of experience as Richardson? He's gonna be great!

Glad to hear that Obama's economic team is "closely monitoring the use of the $700 billion in TARP funds Congress approved." Bush clearly can't wait to get back to Texas, so SOMEONE has pay attention or we'll find ourselves in an even bigger mess. We can't afford any more of our money be spent on executive compensation, shareholder dividends, or luxury resorts. Some folks don't have a lick of sense, and the AIG execs fit that description to a "T" (imbeciles).

It's really rather simple to answer. Not as many "net-o-philes" and voters were interested. It also wasn't a time when so many things were spiraling inot the perverbial toilet. Peolpe are paying more attention now ebcause there is allot to be concerned about.

No thanks of course to the very man who you wish had more attention paid to him.

Sec of Commerce is no small task. People are forgetting that the economy is global, not just Inter-states. Wars are not always started by access to resources but the ability to exchange resources. Those who think that one secretary is more powerful than the other is mistaken. Each may have a domain but they will always overlap each other. The success of Obama administration cannot and should not depend on talent alone. Rather, how well the talented individuals work together as a group will dictate the course for the country. No Drama Obama will need to keep the team in check (ie, no power struggle or favoritism) in order to get us out of this recession.
