Conservationists for Obama is reporting that David Bancroft may be named to a key environmental position in the Obama Admininstration. One of the options for Bancroft is as the new Car Czar specified in this draft legislation to oversee the retooling of the auto industry and leading them into the next generation of fuel effient cars.

I don't like either the "wall street bail out" or the "auto bail out" but why was it so much easier for wall street to get 700 billion that was not structured as a loan and why are the executives still talking about getting bonus monies??? My bonus is based on an equation that factors in my section's performance with the company's over all performance and if the company is not profitable, I get no bonus.... What are these people thinking?? How is this a "free market" when employees and executives are getting bonus packages when the companies are failing? At least the auto executives are willing to work for $1.00 for a year's salary to help out. And...they actually make a product...not just shuffle money around. Do we really want a country where we produce NOTHING???? We have to get with it and now is the time.

I hope msnbc reporters will ask Dana Perino if there was a reason the administration didn't insist on the same "credible plan for long-term viability" from the financial industry.

I agree with Ms. Perino that taxpayers should be confident that all these bailouts are "good faith investment," but so far all I see from this administration is more give aways to the richest of the rich.

Unless this is about a deal for the Bush administration to sneak out of town in the middle of the night so that the Obama administration can start early, I don't want to hear about it. Any other deal that they approve is, by definition, bound to be a disaster.

The Bush White House is incredibly lame. Long term viability cannot be written into a Congrssional Bill. Either the Bush Administration wants to support a reasonable bailout bill or it doesn't. If it doesn't, why waste everyone's time? If it does, then why make such stupid statements?

once again, the media white washes the real news. dems sweep into power and big oil drops gas prices 3.00 bucks over night. they know their days of feeding at the bush trough are done and investigations would reveal the connections between bush- cheney and big oil. but of course the media doesn't want to hurt bush and co. so they remain silent. the middle class need the bail out. give every tax return filer 350,000 dollar stimulus and watch the economy soar. people that have never had money with money would be the ones to bring the economy back.And it would be the cheapest in the long run. new cars, new houses, new electronics, but that would eliminate the wealthy's strangle hold on the nation. the next time a debt collector calls just tell them to take your bill out of their bail out money!!!!!!!!!!!!
