I agree. It will help revive the dying cigarette industry and start a trend back to smoking in public places to help revive our economy. Teens will find it hip to be a smoker again and the taxes on cigarettes will help eliminate the deficit. PE Obama, smoking lamp is lit. Leave this man alone. Smoking does not hurt anyone and he should be free to smoke if he wants.

Former Teamsters chief dies

Prayers to this family. Not familiar with this man, but do know the passing of a loved one is painful.

Former Teamsters chief dies

The death of any loved one at this time of year is sad for their families. Condolences go to his family.
On the other hand, our economy is also dying but can be cured.
Collective bargaining should not be dismantled. Bush can do a little TARP with the stroke of his pen. Reid knew that a vote of NO would bring the issue back again. So lay off Reid. Why is the government now getting less in business and personal income? Greedy, irresponsible, people at the top of the hill need to come down and peruse the real road to recession they are laying the map for. Depression/repression is not unprecedented on the Republican ideology. However, if they Republican ideology no longer believes in slavery, they should realize slavery has been abolished. Families and people cannot exist on minimum wage without the benefits union contract for.
Labor is not free!!!!
Former Teamsters chief dies

Seems like a no-briner
COUNT the votes

'...Al Franken received a potentially major boost towards his hopes of becoming Senator on Friday, when Minnesota state officials ruled that absentee ballots rejected because of clerical or administrative errors should, in the end, be counted.

The decision by the state canvassing board -- which was unanimous -- is, essentially, an official request for county officials to go back and count the wrongfully rejected absentee votes. This process has already begun in many counties and could portend sizeable gains for Franken.

The Democratic challenger has spent the past few weeks demanding that the state review the approximately 1,500 absentee ballots that they contend were unlawfully dismissed. Many of these votes have come from traditionally Democratic locales where, for one reason or another, voters are more likely to make clerical errors when completing their ballots....'

A UNANIMOUS Decision
Even Republican representatives

BUT WAIT, There's MORE !!

'...UPDATE: The Franken campaign got more good news from the canvass board hearing. The state had, during the recount process, been unable to locate 133 ballots from the Minneapolis area. But rather than disregarding these votes, officials decided that they will use the results from Election Day....'

PE Obama, meet Senator Franken !!!
He'll be your ally

Former Teamsters chief dies

Norm, you should have asked Gov. blogojevich !!
HE knows ho to raise money !!

'...Did Norm Coleman's financial problems compel him to turn to friends and GOP donors for help with his living situation?

That's what a new story out of Minnesota alleges. Friday morning, a local Fox News affiliate reported that at the time that Coleman alleged received $75,000 in unreported payments from a prominent Republican businessman, he was also struggling to make payments for the restructuring of his home.

Good government officials wondered whether there was something more than coincidental to the financial exchange. And, indeed, there is other compelling -- and up to this point, unnoted -- evidence to suggest that Coleman was soliciting monetary favors from his GOP backers.

Around the same time that Coleman and/or his wife were allegedly receiving three $25,000 payments from businessman Nasser Kazeminy, the Senator was also getting cheaply discounted rent from a major Republican figure who served as his landlord in Washington D.C....'

Don;t forget the 'free clothes' he was getting
We've GOT TO HELP our working Republicans !!
(they don't have unions to help them out)
Former Teamsters chief dies

Isn't it funny how a $750,000 siphon-off seems insignificant now compared to a $700 BILLION bailout for Wall Street executives, especially since we now learn that much the money has essentially disappeared without any accountability and has not gone for its intended purpose?

This is way over and done, FR. Don't even think about trying to equate this petty personal pecadillo from the past to horrific level of greed and corruption of big corporations and investment brokers -- some of whom now have the gall to admit they knew they were committing fraud -- that wrecked the entire economy and landed this country in the worst crisis since the Great Depression.
Former Teamsters chief dies

The new days are ahead.
