What I'd like to see is all Republican males over the age of 40 who are running for office down south be required to wear their ancestors' confederate uniforms when they campaign.

They obviously haven't quite been able to move past that era. So let them have it back if that's what they want.

As long as George Allen has an (R) behind his name, no amount of so-called rehabilitation will make any difference. His ideals and values are still the same and I'm pleased that Virginia turned blue. I have hopes for Tennessee. Which brings me to my next question.

First Read, why do you insist on trying to make Corker a GOP star? He's about as near a weasel as George Allen. Deliberately trying to bankrupt our country by undermining the auto bailout is certainly not an endearing quality.

Looking more and more like Rahm Emanual: 1.0 is about to get scraped. Rahm of course will need to fall on his sword for Obama and admit he was working a deal to have one of Obama's friends from Illinois, Valerie Jarrett, appointed to his old Senate seat. The price: A high paying do nothing job for Blagojevich in the Obama administration. Now of course Obama was the one making the deal, but he won't take the fall, but Emanual will.

No matter how much he proclaims it himself, George Allen is not seen as the future of the GOP. He's kidding himself - big time - if he thinks that 2012 is within his reach.

He will never represent Virginia again, at least not as Senator or Governor. Some small southwest district might take pity on him and elect him their rep but other than that, he's through in VA. He's one of the original divide and conquer conservatives, and dumber than a door nail.

Am I the only woman offended by the fact that he thinks we don't know the difference between a bullet or buckshot? even when he is trying to not be offensive, he's offensive.

Sounds to me like his 'tone' is about seeing the writing on the wall and realizing that you need the center to win elections. The extreme left or right will not win elections. It has to play to the moderates. Colin Powell was right on CNN this week.

George Allen showed his true colors in the 2006 elections, and Americans have a LONG memory (funny thing about the Internet, you can't say anything without it being viewed a gazillion times). If the GOP wants him as their new face, then fine, let them lose a bunch more seats in the next election.
