What are the results of his time at the head of the Chicago public schools? What has changed? Gotten better? Gotten worse? None of these questions were clearly answered here. Anything else to add or places to go?

As for Salazar, he's got to be better than anyone that Bush had. It is hard to have many people worse than him.

Duncan is an excellent pick for Education for Obama. They are friends and Obama trusts him AND they can play BB on down times in the White House! He's done a good job in Chicago considering what he has to deal with and I know Obama only surrounds himself with the most qualified people. Duncan will make him proud.

I voted fo Obama,but I can't believe he named Arne Duncan as Educatioon Sec.! I guess having parents who are the bourgeoisie in education gets your foot in the door and the other is a good game of basketball. Obama is out of touch on how Chicago Blacks are still upset about Ren.2010! This pick only verifies my greatest fear and prediction that "O" will do as little to help the average Afro-Am. as Duncan has as CEO for the CPS. Good Luck American and stay tune!

I hope he pays some attention to the disgraceful Special Education system in this country, who's budgets are being cut to bits. The school systems in this country are in wretched shape. Hope he can save new generations of students.
