I was expecting more Republicans in more visible roles though (i.e. Sec.State, Sec.Treasury, et al).

I guess Transportation Secretary is the throw away position for the unloyal opposition. This is the token seat given to Democrat Norm Minetta by the bushwhacker. I guess Lahood isn't so bad if he failed to sign on to "Adulterer" Gingrich's contract out on America. I guess there are still a few honest moderate republicans left, too bad they've been overwhelmed by the evangelical christian lunatic fringers who have wrecked their party.

That will quiet the LGBT crowd that was displeased with his pick of Rick Warren to do the invocation at the Inauguration. Further, it may be the first step in ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and allowing Gays to serve openly in the military. That's a solid on his part.

It is important that Obama has a good balance of professionals in his cabinet. Regardless of what party a person represents. If the person is qualified for the position?? Then they should be in Obama's cabinet, working as a team, to move our nation forward. That is fact!

So he sounds pretty moderate. And not signing up for the Contract with America is a big no-no in my conservative circles.

The 'Contract' is the kind of clear vision and message we need right now.

And I'm holding judgement on Obama. I'll give the guy a shot, but I'll be vocal with anything I disaprove of.

Obama is a total failure! What's he done since elected? Nothing! The economy is tanking even though he was elected more than a month ago...doesn't matter how many republicans are in his cabinet, they won't save him!

Um...Michael, Obama is not President yet, nor is he a Senator anymore. Exactly what power do you expect him to wield at this point? As for Palin, I think (and Obama apparently agrees) that the cabinet posts should be reserved for those persons who demonstrate some measure of competence and the capacity for loyalty.
