Feinstein and Rockefeller never got it on torture. They never got it on illegal surveillance. Their objection does not bother me in the least.

More importantly there is no way they have the stones to block the nomination.

I wish they'd had the strength of character to get so worked up when they learned the Bush was shredding the Constitution and out nation's reputation.

Feinstein is another reason for term limits in the Senate; People claim that things never change and then get upset within minutes of an announcement after reading a short summary and think they are experts. Obama again has put together an excellent, balanced team for national security.

Obama said he was bringing change and he will...unlike the past model of one person in charge he is building well balanced teams to specific areas; this is the way successful businesses and enterprises are run. Feinstein has been upset since Clinton lost the primaries.

Obama isn't in the pocket of the senators; he nominates and if the senate doesn't like his pick, then don't confirm him but you better have better reasons than he didn't come from the CIA whose pathetic job of intelligence started the Iraq war.

Sometimes the only way to make bold changes involves upsetting the status quo. Those on Capitol hill who are upset tonight did NOT stand up for American principles ('all men are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights') as we slid towards being a country that practices torture! They did NOT deserve to have the final say IF ANY and Obama is showing us in this instance what it's like for a politician to follow through on his campaign promises. Did he mean "Enough!" when he said it? I believe he did and I am proud of his decisions.
