OBAMA HAS NOT EVEN BEEN SWORN IN AND ALREADY BLACK POLITICIANS ARE PLAYING THE RACE CARD. BLACK LEADERS ARE CALLING BURRIS' SENATE APPOINTMENT A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE --- IT IS NOT. INSTEAD IT'S AN ISSUE OF 'HONOR' AND BURRIS IS A DISHONORABLE MAN. BURRIS PARICIPATED IN HATCHING A "SCHEME" WITH BLAGO FOR HIS APPOINTMENT.

IT APPEARS THAT OBAMA'S ELECTION IS NOT GOING TO BETTER RACE RELATIONS IN THIS COUNTRY --- BUT RATHER WORSEN THEM --- BECAUSE BLACK POLITICIANS NOW FEEL FREE TO DRAG OUT THE "RACE CARD" EVERYTIME A BLACK MAN IS INVOLVED. THIS HAS BEEN AN AL SHARPTON & JESSE JACKSON TACTIC --- AND IT HAS NOT WORKED. CERTAINLY OBAMA AND HIS WHITE LIBERAL SUPPORTERS WILL NOT CONDEMN IT ---- BUT THE REST OF NON-BLACK AMERICA WILL SOON REBEL AGAINST. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE BLACK LEADERSHIP HAS NOT LEARNED FROM HISTORY!

once again politics is playing the role of whos who and can he be one of the boys...Why do you think washington continues to be a mess...Nothing but power plays while some try to throw around there weight just to be able to say look who i am and the power i have....Get to the business of the people and quit trying to impress ous......What did Washington give up? i BET YOU GOT YOUR 4500 DOLLAR RAISE PLUS ALL THOSE PERKS......I would love to run for your office, even though i dont have the education or money you have but just for the perks and salary i would love to....I could probably do a better job....Washington politcs as usual hoping the American peole dont see it..

It's time to seat Roland Burris. It's time to get as many good Democratic Seantors into the Senate as soon as possible so we can cram our change down the throats of the repugnant ones who will try to stop it. I find it stupid for the Democrats to be raising such a big stink with one of their own when they aren't investigating the most corrupt and incompetent administration in history.

This must be a new record for Democrats. They stuck together on the being against the Burris appointment for what, about 3 hours yesterday? This was the Democrats position before DiFi bailed on Team Democrat, decided that laws do matter, and Burris should be seated. Didn't take long to get the clown show started, and we ca n always depend on Harry Reid when we need a few laughs.

I actually like this. After 8 years of a congress that was little more than a rubber-stamp, it's nice to see a little independent thinking and backbone. The new congress just has to remember that it's coming in with an even lower approval rating than Bush, so they shouldn't get too much of a hard-on.

As for the Burris/Franken seats, I'm guessing they'll both be seated. I still don't agree with Burris being seated (I'm sure he paid for it), but I believe the senate was in a no-win situation from the beginning on this. If they had done nothing, they would be seen as tacitly approving of Blago's aleged pay-to-play scheme (and the sore-loser GOP would have a field day with it). They were right to at least make a show of fighting the appointment.

Is anyone in the media asking whether the Illinois attorney general should investigate the secretary of state for refusing to sign the document without any valid legal authority? After all, she IS the attorney general, and it's her job to uphold the law. But don't forget ... at least one judge has already thrown her out of court for bringing an essentially meritless case to remove Blagojevich from office. I'm sure there were NO political motives beyond that little abuse of her power, were there?

Ah, Illinois. Where the water is polluted, but still cleaner than the hands of its politicians.

Terry McAuliffe as Governor of Virginia makes me cringe. He is soooooooo not right for ANY political position. He completely turned me off during the primaries. What a whiner and nitwit. I only see him trying to run a campaign as lame as Sarah Palin might run. I'd never vote for him for anything. What a waste of space.

Burris and the Democrats are tied to Blagojevich. And yes, they are all fools. It's all about power for the Democrats, no special election to let the people pick Obama's successor. They, and their friends in the media, will gloss the Burris fiasco over later. My bet is Burris will win relection in Illinois in 2010. And yes, the majority of voters in Illinois are that stupid.

Burris is an unqualified idiot! His actions speak to his values, morals and judgment. Accepting this appointment from "Deep Bangs" puts his integrity and motives in question. Is he really trying to serve the great people of Illinois, who rejected him 5 times when he ran for major office, Govenor, Senator and Mayor. I think the good people of Illinios knew exactly what they were doing. This self-promoting jackass has used race and religion to further HIS cause. It's disgusting and Illinois politics at its worse. We don't need this joker in the Senate period.
