This is totally off the subject, but does anybody know if a lawsuit could be pursue by average citizens against government officials who break the laws of this country? (torture)
Obama may or may not pursue this, but he has prove the internet is a potent instrument to raise money.
I'm envisioning a class action lawsuit where "WE THE PEOPLE" could see justice prevail, and that no one is above the law, and some accountability for past, and future sins will be in place.
I do not know if this is even possible...?
If we could get a few knowledgeable bloggers to post their thoughts on this I would like to see something like this become a possibility.
Just wondering?
Obama raised millions, we could too, to prosecute those who break the laws of this country by ignoring the constitution.
Any thoughts?

Sadly, your lawsuit would have very little chance in court. Generally, individual taxpayers (or a class action of them) have no standing to pursue these types of claims. Its the same reason that the Supreme Court refused to hear the "Obama is a foreigner" cases. Additionally, such a case would likely bring up separation of powers principals, and may also be barred by the political doctrine (i.e., courts have no right to review a political decision).

Where were you on 911?
I was riveted to the TV, unable to believe what had happened. For the first time in my life, I felt vulnerable in America. Then the president spoke, alas, I felt even more vulnerable. My God, he's a basket case, he can barely speak. Obviously, he was so completely emotionally devastated I could almost
feel it coming through the TV.
The next time he spoke to the world before the Congress, he seemed a different man. He showed the courage and strength I felt a president should have.
He gave me the impression he would walk into hell to see that it didn't happen again. He did. It didn't.
In my unqualified opinion, 9-11 defined President Bush. And, like a parent who has lost a child due to a senseless tragedy, they will sometimes overprotect the other children, ironically to their detriment.
In his desire to connect to the common folks, he often came across as a "bumpkin"........And, to some who value the grammatically accurate sentence more then the deeper feelings of a man driven to keep the wolves from the door, I say, thank you, for the fruits of all the great minds, spell check included,
and, I hope the cool, calm, calculating, cerebral approach of the next president creates a secure homeland as well. I think he will, how can he be so smart and still have such a heart warming smile? I'm excited and bewildered by this world. Let's give presidents the respect the office deserves, even if we despise their policies.

the gop will not win a presidency before 2024.

the gop has become narrow in it's membership. it has become controlled by race haters, class intolerators, religous fanatics and haters, gender indifference and total ideaologues have become the norm for the gop.

the gop aren't tolerant to difference in opinion. it will be a long time before republicans return to power in the white house. the senate and house majority will depend on the effectiveness of the white house. that means the majority will stay in place at least through obama's second term.
