WASHINGTON -- Before an East Room audience of doctors, scientists, lawmakers and religious leaders President Obama signed an executive order Monday lifting the ban on federal funding for stem cell research, fulfilling

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

From Jim Cramer:

President Obama's team, unlike Bush's team, demonstrates a thinness of skin that shocks me. When I somewhat obviously and empirically judged that the populist Obama administration is exacerbating the crisis with its budget and policies, as evidenced by the incredible decline in the averages since his inauguration, I was met immediately with condescension and ridicule rather than constructive debate or even just benign dismissal. I said to myself, "What the heck? Are they really that blind to the Great Wealth Destruction they are causing with their decisions to demonize the bankers, raise taxes for the wealthy, advocate draconian cap-and-trade policies and upend the health care system? Do they really believe that only the rich own stocks? What do they think we have our retirement accounts in, CDs? Where did they think that the money saved for college went, our mattresses? Do they think the great middle class banks at the First National Bank of Sealy and only the wealthiest traffic in the Standard & Poor's 500?"

-------------
Cramer and others know that Obama now owns the economy. No more pointing fingers at others, no more excuses. Once the stimulus bill passed, the economy was all Obama's. And yet, when critics go after Obama's plan, Obama attacks them right back, usually at the "in the gutter" level. Obama constantly says he wants to hear all sides of an issue, but recoils in fear and then lashes out in anger when he gets an opinion contrary to his own. The man Obama is a fraud. A fake. An inexperienced ideologue who is not open to any ideas but his own.

T Maples, Modesto CA
Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

How many jobs has Obama saved today?

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban
Hopefully, this ends the 'War against Science'

We don;t need Sarah's 'Wtich Doctor' anymore

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

More pretty words, beautiful prose in fact. This is the placeage of a value on one human over another.

If research can done without the destruction of human embryos, then I have no concern. If this however results in the destruction of human embryos, then what we have is the start of the production of human beings, ala Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World".

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

"It is about ensuring that scientific data is never distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda,” Obama said, “and that we make scientific decisions based on facts, not ideology."

About time... a bold step forward in moving america out of her scientific dark ages

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

We the People. StemTech Health Science's Stem Enhance is the alternative to the controversial stem cells we hear about in the news. Patented Product StemEnhance supports the natural release of stem cells to promote optimal healing and stem cell physiology.

Officials at StemTech Health Sciences were aiming for Stem Enhance sales of $100,000 in the first month. Which was a hearty goal in itself. Imagine their astonishment when the 1st month's sales totaled over $1,000,000 and it just keeps rising.http://www.phyl247.biz office 970-985-4076

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

GOOD. Great job President Obama. It's about time this country gets back to science and stop pushing certain peoples religious agenda. This is exactly why we voted for you. Thank you President Obama.

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

Curious, W never laid down the law on the fertility clinics! What in the world were they intending to do with all those fertilized eggs. Perhaps they would be used to start a "New World Order".

This would be where Suleman comes in....the Repukes have be silent on THAT!!!!

Science should not only be used to find cures, when it suits the Repukes....! Family values and all!!!

Great move Mr. President

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

A couple of questions to ask those who disagree with this decision----If you destroy embryos that are no longer viable for transplant, are you destroying life? If those embryos are no longer viable for transplant and are being destoyed then why not use them for stem cell research? Please do not give me the slippery slope crap neither. You can't have your cake and ice cream and eat it as well.

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

Good job, President Obama. If you had ever read any of what was written (other than the oil company supported work), you would have read that experts predicted wild fluctuations in our climate where there would be more severe cold and heat, and more severe storms.

One of the most interesting lines of rhetoric that comes from the republican party is that spending money on creating jobs and stimulating the economy is wrong because it puts the burden on future generations. But continuing to spew carbon into the atmosphere with no attempt at reduction is fine because it is only a myth that carbon emmissions are causing global climate change.

So the lesson is don't worry about ruining the earth, but please don't leave any debt to future generations (other than the massive debt created fighting a war against terror in a country that had nothing to do with the attacks against the US).

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

If this however results in the destruction of human embryos, then what we have is the start of the production of human beings, ala Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World".
Rob, from Iowa
===========
How is this any different from the fertility places destroying them anyhow? We hear about spending so much, but we live in the richest nation with one of the biggest income variants. There are simply the have and have nots. Our nation has begun to plunge long before Obama, Bush, and Clinton. Its about getting our values strait. Its about equality and respecting the human condition. Somehow along the way we have lost that. Our President seeks to look at the bigger picture. Do we have the time to invest in medical science? Must we wait and continue to regress in our ability to care for those needing medical treatment.....isnt this a nation that was marked by progression? With change comes deviance. it is clear that many of Obama's views will be viewed as such. However, it is important for us to understand that the resistance to progress that has marked our nation on many ISSUES will not deter the changes and investments that are needed for our nation to heal, create more fair policies and laws, and ultimately change some of the underlying views that have cause us to be such a separatist nation. Stem cell research is just the beginning. The US and its citizens need to learn how to empathize. We need to stop simply worrying about ourselves and invest in what is right. this nation is marked by inclusion of many, so why to we seek to exclude a need in a population that it perceived to be minority when the research will not only help the few, but eventually many......?????

Obama signs order lifting stem-cell ban

"medical miracles do not happen simply by accident"

Oh really?? How about Penicillin, Viagra, x-rays, and quinine? This is a much shorter list, I'm sure, then the total "medical miracles" discovered by accident. What's the point of eloquence when all the words are a lie?

The question is, how much taxpayer dollars have been stolen for this kind of research? What happened to the the free market capitalist model? Since when does the constitution permit taxpayer dollars be taken for medical research by multinational pharma-corporations?
