You would have woken up one morning In September of 08 and you would not have been able to pull money out of your ATM. What this company did over the 7 to 8 years was conduct financial terrorism against the American people. I only wish that the Obama administration would explain it to America what happen. Talk about putting a positive spin on things!!! Bush may not be the sharpest guy, but he is smart enough to know that Obama is very popular in Canada. He knows how petty it would seem for him to criticize Obama as the new president is working hard to clean up Bush's (& Cheney's) horrible mess.

"Class personified"? That's a laughable statement. People with class don't lie. They don't lead soldiers to an unnecessary death. Every voter should remember these names when they're up for re-election (with the exception of CLaire- I believe she's there to state President Obama's case). Good. Our country needs moderate viewpoints, which is the only way to truly govern in a bipartisan manner (which is, after all, precisely what Obama promised, right?).

As to the people who enjoy blaming Bush for the AIG bonuses...wake up! Bush did NOT give the money to the banks and neither did Paulsen. CONGRESS DID! And who controlled Congress? Yes, that's right...the Democrats. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

And finally, Obama needs to focus. He's all over the place. He's got a healthcare summit one day, Leno the next, and then we turn around and he's filling out and announcing his college basketball tourney picks, and all of this is occurring in the midst of an economic crisis!! I am all about multitasking, but you also have to prioritize.

And the AIG bonus "outrage" is a joke, by the way...it was only after Obama realized that the public was ticked off that he decided to take a strong stance against them. This was illustrated by the resignation to the bonuses by his administration officials making the rounds on the Sunday morning talk circuit.

Maybe they will be what is needed to bring some common sense legislation to Congress. Nancy Pelosi seems too liberal and the Repbublicans are way to conservative so these middle-of-the-roaders may be able to take ideas from both extremes and suggest compomises that make sense and will get the job done.

I have always believed in governing from the center as it seems to make the most sense in a democracy.

We've seen, over the last 8 years what radicalism can do to the country. In that case it was conservative extremists but the left has had their turn too and they were jerked back toward the center just as we need to jerk the government back toward the center from the far right fringes.

Should be interesting to see exactly what this "working group" has in mind. I noticed Morning Joe Scarborough was jumping for joy but then he thinks he's a moderate republican. The working group may negotiate the extremes in both parties which can be helpful to the administration. If we don't like what they're doing, we can send them e-mails protesting. Now, when will the moderate republicans stand up for themselves and refuse to be in lock-step, talking point mode?

I think this could be very good. The country mostly is centrist. Yes, left sector dems voted for Obama, but the ones that put hime over the top are Independants who are moderates to begin with.

It is pretty safe to say that Pelosi is representing the hard left of my party, which doesnt fit the times we are in. I believe a more moderate Speaker of the house is needed. One less confrontational and more willing to listen to alternative ideas instead of being an idealogue.

They need to get up some courage and declare themselves Independents (Lieberman already did) and starty caucusing with the Republicans. That would stir the pot. Meanwhile Obama is encouraging the villification of AIG bonuses he knew about before the piles of dollars were given to them - this because he wants the nation to get mad at business, industry, individual effort, etc. so he can proclaim the Gov't and himself as the savior of America. Thus he and his cronies take over and put the nation under socialism where we owe everything to and are dependent upon the gov't. Then, instead of equality we will have the ruling class, who are rich - Obama, et al, and the working class, the rest of us. We will lose incentive and stop producing. The military, under strict control of the ultra leftists becomes the enforcer and subjugator of the people. The FBI becomes the KGB and there you have it. Not pretty! Paulson gave more money to AIG and wall street than any democrat. Bayh never asked for him to resign. Reps never asked for the impeachment of Bush who brought the US as well as the global economy down and spent trillions on an oil war in Iraq. He was watching as bad mortgages were created and dished out to consumers, consequently millions around the globe have lost their homes. Americans were rich after Clinton now everyone is poor and some may never recover. Following Rep administration, Americans are hated abroad and that yet has to go back to the way it was before Bush.
