If we can get tribal chiefs on our side and bribe the right people we can do what we want. That is what we did in Iraq and that is what will need to be done in Afghanistan/Pakistan. Use their culture against them. That is how they defeat each other, after all. Doing this will require fewer forces but the forces that we do employ will be specially trained to deal with tribes and the chieftans and to understand the culture of the region. There will be collateral casualties and casualties of war but they will be diminished as in Iraq once we fight them the way that they fight each other.

I know Zionist Lieberman and war hawk McCain would love to send thousands upon thousands of troops but all we would have is thousands and thousands of corpses. Let's be smart and do it right. Once we got it right in Iraq we started winning and now things are much better there. Let's not make the same mistake in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

McCain pivots to Afghanistan

McCain has 20/20 vision in hindsight, but his forward-looking spectacles are glossed over with gray and black paint. We need more working together and less working to place blame.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
From previous post:

"By the way,I am befuddled by the lack of comment from the Obama worshippers regarding the Dodd amendment, Dodd's doublespeak on how the amendment got re-written to allow the bonuses, (he first said it happened in the House conference committee, then amended that to say that his staff added the language at the uring of the Treasury department), and the hundreds of thousands of dollars Dodd and Obama got from AIG as campaign contributions. The silence is deafening. Do you just ignore inconvenient facts? " -no joe, no bo, nj
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

As Sean Hannity would say, let not your heart be troubled. lol

First, does responding to your post mean that I have to lay claim to the title "Obama worshipper"? Because I "reject and denounce" that title.

Second, you speak of "facts", but so far, all I've heard is Senator Dodd changing his story a lot. I'm still waiting on the "facts"

But assuming things are just the way that Senator Dodd remembers them to be, that Treasury staff encouraged him to water down the amendment, what exactly then should my knee jerk reaction be? Outrage?

I would like to know WHY the amendment was watered down if it was, what was the thinking behind it? Was it done specifically to let AIG give out these bonuses? Somehow I doubt it . . . but I could be wrong.

I seem to remember members of the Republican Party extolling the evils of "class warfare" and "punishing the rich" when the idea of capping executive pay was discussed. Now all of the sudden, the Republican Party represents "the people".

I think that history will show that it is not "the people" that the many of the members of Congress (Democratic and Republican) have been representing . . .

It is the culture of accountability and transparency advocated by President Obama that will go a long way toward changing the expectations in Washington. It's not always pretty, but I prefer knowing what is going on in Washington to the old ways of doing business.

I say let the chips fall where they may - the American people will be better for it.

P.S. What Mr Obama promised was that he would bring the troops home within a 16 months of taking office. He also commented many times that he would work with the military to insure it was a resonsible draw down.

As an Obama supporter, I am a little disappointed that he has hedged on this promise and is extending deployment of some troops for a longer period. But I also recognize that it is important to listen and learn. Unlike our previous President, President Obama seems willing to listen, learn, and compromise. That is vital to success and in building a more cohesive nation.

McCain pivots to Afghanistan

I see when the GOP leader are the subject the Obama bashers stay at bay...... hummmmm, wonder why????

McCain pivots to Afghanistan

WE BETTER BE CONCERNED THAT OBAMA WILL 'SELL OUT OUR MILITARY' TO GAIN FAVOR WITH HIS ILK.

JUST THIS WEEK HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE OUR WOUNDED MILITARY HEROS FROM IRAQ & AFGHANISTAN BE FINACIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN CARE & TREATMENT OF BATTLE WOUNDS.

SOUND INSANE? --- ASK THE COMMANDER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION!
OBAMA - MAKE WOUNDED SOLDIERS PAY FOR THE OWN CARE! This is a sucker punch from Al Qaeda. The enemy want us in Afghanistan, fully equipped, tanks, planes, complete...and dishing out 12 billion dollars a month.
That brings me back to my question....How do you fight an invisible enemy? I think first you have to also become invisible. Bring the troops home and take the war to the eneny undercover. Then we can win, and at a fraction of the cost.

McCain pivots to Afghanistan

Q.)
