Smith, Charlotte, NC

I would ask President Obama if he is in favor of congressional maneuvers that would allow the Democratic majority to pass legislation with absolutely no Republican support. I am of the FIRM belief that legislation produced by either party on a purely partisan level is bad for the country. The beauty of America is the integration of ideas from across the political spectrum. Of course not everyone agrees on everything, but with a purely partisan vote, from either party, there will inevitably be blowback from the other side. To move the country forward on the issues that define us a nation such as healthcare, energy, education, etc., there MUST be some sort of concensus, else history will record the partisan failure. I feel very strongly about this issue, and I hope with all my being that Congress will not travel this questionable path.

What would you ask President Obama?

Mr. President, Could you tell me exactly what good $13.00 a week is going to do for me.Where is the $1000.00 check I was promised. Why couldn't you have just left the stimulus check in place that we were getting? We have to add any interest we earn on our tax returns, but get no credit for interest we pay.
