I am not an "intellectual", but I do know how to think for myself. And as far as you being able to stand "toe to toe" with me?

The GOP is desperate, taking the focus off Cheney finding his voice to the slime-ball Rove testifying today - Friday, how convenient - reminds me of all those "Document Dump Friday's" during the Imperial BushCo Presidency!! Just send Cheney and Rove to prison - they've stolen enough of our money!!
The more Dick Cheney talks, the more determined the democrats should be to investigate his role in the illegal activities that took place during his time in office! How ironic he couldn't find his voice to speak up for the soldiers he put in harm's way, or those ill affected by the policies he helped shape while in office, but is now a squawk box on every media outlet that will listen to him try to save himself!!

A lot of funny stuff went on during the Bush Adminstration.

On Nancy Pelosi: Anybody who flusters and stutters as much as she does cannot be lying. Most liars are straight forward and have their stories consistent and rehearsed.

I could tell that Nancy was trying to keep the public informed without revealing confidential information.

And we all know that the CIA has misinformed on a steady basis to everyone.

Going forward I am sure it will be different under Panetta's watch and I for one agree with Prez Obama. Let's go forward!

I think Panetta is correct--ignore the noise. The CIA Panetta runs is not the same as under Bush & Cheney; records kept may or may not be accurate. Most likely there's truth from Pelosi and from the CIA. As someone else commented, whether Pelosi knew or didn't know is not the issue but the GOP wants to that to be the topic. The issue is whether we tortured and who was the mastermind. What doesn't make sense to me is why the GOP would blame Pelosi when they were part of the same briefings. Why would they want to draw attention to the fact that they also were informed and did not raise issues? The briefings were classified and there was nothing the democrats could have done to stop it UNLESS republicans were equally concerned because the GOP was in the majority.

I guess the Republicans have plenty of time on their hands for making political hay — since they aren't coming up with any new solutions for helping our country to get out of this mess that the Republicans got us into over the past 8 years… OR for that matter, they aren't interested in stopping their stupid, expensive and dirty oil wars.

While I have no doubt that Pelosi and Dems in general are at least complicit in not stopping waterboarding (and other Dick Cheney fun and games)…. I doubt she aided and abetted torturing…

We all know that Cheney wouldn't have allowed any Dems to participate – and attempts by Congress after 2006 to top the practices were vetoed by Bush (Cheney's sock puppet).

But getting back to the Republican so-called "outrage" over whether Pelosi knew or tried to stop waterboarding in the past…

PUL-EEZE! If the "Party of No" really cared, they should have stopped that war criminal Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney after he outed Valerie Plame.

It is very possible that the Bush Administration did not fill in the Speaker of the House in-depth (which happens to be a Dem), my goodness we all know that administration did some pretty horrible things and this doesn’t seem to go against that norm.

The possibility is very likely that the Speaker was not given in-depth details of what was going on as far as how which techniques were being used… where are the details of what she knew, that would be the biggest help in getting this matter resolved not to mention she's asked for the release of these documents. Sen. Graham & the Speaker appear to be singing off the same sheet, so…

amateurish we have to wonder how she ever became speaker.We can chalk it up to her sinicism and belief that the CIA briefing records could never become public or at least not any time in her political carrer. From that assumtion it is easy to see how she began the over the top attacks on the Bush administration, the US military and every republican who dared stand in her way.Was Nancy making these attacks out of confusion of what she was told by the CIA or simply hitting below the belt to score political points believing she would fly under the cover of the security issue? Other than the left wing frothing class many democrats must realize that she has become a dangerous side show and liability to their party.
